I don’t know, the rich and powerful don’t rely on law enforcement to protect them: they willingly pay for protection. I don’t think I’d have a problem with privately run fire departments. Not sure what the downside would be. And there is always a demand for that. It would still be regulated by local govt. Why wouldn’t it be profitable? Govt run FDs operate with budgets too. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Regardless, I’m not seeing the connection here. I’m not seeing what fire departments have to do with keeping the federal govt running anymore than I’m seeing what pay raises for Congress, or pork granting funding for salmon conservation does.

They need to balance thier budgets somewhat. Your county won’t wont be able to spend what they don’t have, unlike the federal government.

He didn’t invent gravity. It’s cute though that you think no one is profiting from this stuff despite the governments role. If there’s a demand, then there’s a profit. If there’s no demand then taxpayers certainly shouldn’t be funding it. Plus, what does that have to do with keeping the government running for the next three months?
