Everyone say CHEESE. 📸 The newest family selfie just dropped. Can you guess which one of our planetary neighbors snuck into the lower right-hand corner? Drop the name below! Answer coming later today.

We see our home planet as a whole, lit up in spectacular blues and browns. A green aurora even lights up the atmosphere. That's us, together, watching as our astronauts make their journey to the Moon.

Did you know “astronaut” is Greek for “star sailor” Ancient Greek: ástron, meaning "star," and nautes, meaning "sailor"

Rotherham, England replaced 8 miles of mowed grass with wildflowers. They saved £25,000 in mowing costs a year and bees, butterflies, and birds showed up almost immediately. You don’t need to wait for your city to act. Start small in your own patch: 🏡 Let your front verge or sidewalk strip go wild this spring 🌻 Toss a few native wildflower seed balls into neglected spots 🌱 Stop mowing one strip and see what shows up 📧 Contact your city government. One email from one person has started initiatives like this before One person. One small patch. Real habitat. Your street could be next.

@NASAArtemis @esaspaceflight

The hammer-headed bat, Hypsignathus monstrosus, is the largest bat in mainland Africa. While they look like something out of a horror movie, they are actually gentle fruit-eaters.

A fisherman near San Francisco spotted a whale hopelessly tangled in fishing net. When rescuers arrived, they realized there was only one way to save her: dive in and cut her free by hand, knowing one strike of her tail could kill them. For hours, they worked to cut the ropes with curved blades that were wrapped around her body and mouth. The divers said that when she was finally free, she swam in wide circles, then came back and gently nudged each of them, one by one to let them feel her gratitude. The diver who removed the rope from her mouth said that her eye followed him the entire time, and that he would never be the same. We have been given the privilege of conscious awareness, hands and bodies that have unique abilities, and a heart to take action whenever we see a person or an animal in need. Never forget how much power you have to save a life. We never know when that moment will arrive. But being prepared to want to help and take action is the first step.
