It’s not just military… it’s political. A regional conflict gives cover for much larger action by the US. Much easier to justify escalation when it’s framed as coalition security vs a single adversary- As suggested by yesterdays announcement of “project freedom” That’s when constraints start coming off. And once that happens, things move fast.

@Terror_Alarm Counterintuitive, but this might actually end it faster. The moment UAE steps in, the balance flips from pressure to overwhelm. That’s when negotiations stop being optional. Feels closer to a resolution than escalation.

@SandyofSuffolk You don't understand. Exactly. It's not free cash. It's a secured loan with promises and the idea is a weaker russia there is better than a Russia here. Significantly cheaper.

I don't understand why the EU and the UK keep giving money to Ukraine to stop the Russian invasion. But the EU and UK are happy to let the invasion of Europe by Middle Eastern and African men continue. 🤔🧐

@ey_eball @EssexPR And "trumps playing 14D chess". It's one of those arguments that's deliberately undeniable so folks like Adam can repeat it hoping to sound intelligent.

I just watched Starmer proudly announcing the UK will join a £78 billion loan to Ukraine. WTF!!?? We're broke, highest ever levels of debt, highest ever levels of tax, economy a total mess. Where is that money coming from when we simply haven't got it!? Something is very wrong!

THE U.S DENYING IRAN'S CLAIMS IT FIRED 2 MISSILES ON A U.S WARSHIP IS GOOD NEWS Because: 1. Either the U.S is saying the truth, and Iran lied, and that's good news as it means no attacks 2. The U.S. is lying, which confirms they do NOT want to escalate, and are probing Iran

Because I believe reform will change the country and make it better for Britain remove illegal immigrants, leave the WHO and ECHR Make British people a priority not immigrants. I don’t believe they will sell the NHS or leave pensioners stranded. It will take time to put right but they will put the country right.

I'm not a racist or a fascist I am a gay man who has worked from 16. I will retire in 4 years . I have always loved my country but am so disillusioned with the present @Keir_Starmer and past conservative government who I gave my vote to. I have been let down in many ways. That's why I am voting for Reform 👍👍 @Nigel_Farage for PM

I’ve had to wait an additional 7yrs to get my pension & so have thousands of others as supposedly the UK couldn’t afford it & meanwhile this traitor Starmer is pledging once again the UK to be part of a £78 billion loan to Ukraine. It makes me so angry 😡

@BenGrahamUK @TiceRichard @RachelHale9920 If Reform were in a position to do this it would mean that they won the election and if they won there wouldn’t be any open borders. They’re going to stop the Channel migrants remember? You people are so thick.

Have I missed something as I don’t remember being asked if we want closer ties with the EU. Has anyone else not been asked? It appears that Keir Starmer has a free reign & does whatever he wants & no questions are asked. This feels more like a dictatorship.

It's actually absurd how many Europeans fail to grasp that denying us the use of those bases for operations in Iran, which is a more immediate threat to Europe than to us, made even a lot of US fans of NATO wonder what we're doing in Europe anymore.
Andrea Junker@Strandjunker

US troops are not in Germany to protect Germany. They’re there because the US needs bases to conduct operations beyond the North American continent. If Trump withdraws them, he will harm the United States, not Germany. It’s absurd how many Americans fail to grasp this.

In the last 6 months, Kemi Badenoch has become one of the most effective operators in British politics. She has consistently held Keir Starmer to account, dismantled weak arguments, and used data to pin him down. Clear, composed, and increasingly hard to ignore with her tough stance on crime.
Ben Graham tweet media
Ben Graham@BenGrahamUK

It’s refreshing to see Kemi Badenoch go straight to the scene in Golders Green and face the public head on, especially when it could easily have turned into a PR disaster. With emotions running high, this had all the ingredients to go badly wrong, but she handled it with composure and intent. The more I see of her, the more impressed I am.

We must put our national security first. That’s why I would scrap Keir Starmer’s Chagos surrender, and use the money Labour would have wasted to speed up the delivery of new Royal Navy frigates.
