@newbandsphase @keithjones84 Is that the same cemetry as where Robert Tressel, of "The Ragged-Trousered Philanthropist" fame, is buried? Some legacy.
English

@keithjones84 James William Carling who was from the Holy Cross area of Liverpool is buried in Walton Park Cemetery. He produced a series of illustrations for Poe’s The Raven.

@NewWaveAndPunk Jeez, waybto make me feel old; I saw them open the Heaven Up Here UK tour there 45 years ago this month, Mac taking the piss out of the Forest fans because we were on our way to another European Cup. Great gig, great band. Sticky carpet.

@Kurgan1453 @aroundliv No turning from the Right Hand lane. Always use that exit, feels like a secret passageway, and love emerging to the Liverbirds

@OnJambos41038 @1968Tv My next favourite depuction of football on screen would be the classic Likely Lads episode about avoiding the England score. The man who takes the bet....Brian Glover. And he had no love for the game, big RL fan (and professional wrestler)

@TheAnfieldWrap Can't put my finger in it, but something very old school about him. Upright stance, high elbow action when he runs? Don't know, but very impressive so far.
English

@eurofootcom Liverpool fan, but used to love watching Alan Gilzean, a real class act.

@RayDiPerna @TheCinesthetic And fwiw, The Conversation is a masterpiece (imo, of course. Different strokes etc.) Nominated in the same year as GF2, both FFC.

JOHN CAZALE only made 5 feature films in his career; these are the 5 films:

The Godfather Part II (1974)
The Conversation (1974)
Dog Day Afternoon (1975)

@LeeMck9 @henrywinter Fair enough, really hope you do well next season. Especially if it's us who win the title he costs you. (I do think he is a good signing for you)
English

@JRC999 @henrywinter If him getting sent off at anfield next season nearly costs us the title I’ll take it mind

Leader, mentor, winner. Granit Xhaka would be an inspired signing by Sunderland. He's 32 but still a force in midfield, still playing internationally (137 caps and counting for Switzerland). All that experience and guile and knowledge of the Premier League (225 appearances). All that dedication and application, he'd be a role model for Sunderland's younger players. Whatever Xhaka costs (fee/wages), he'll surely be worth it. #SAFC

@EdwynCollins Further muddies that "Were Television punks or not" debate, because that's both proto-punk and proto-Television - seems Television were post-punk before punk had really happened! Had Hell already adopted his (punk) nom-de-plume at this point? Or Verlaine his French poet one?

The Neon Boys - That's All I Know (Right Now) youtu.be/SxyI_gyD7MI?si… Morning Punks,

@TheFarm_Peter HMHB couldn't have been any clearer where they stood,to be fair. (And I've seen you in Crosby Sainsbury's in a Dukla Prague away shirt, so fair do's)

Remember when groups never talked about football before it was ‘fashionable’ as football fans were public enemy No 2 behind the miners in the 80s now they’re all over it 😂😂
YOGI-G & THE FAMILY TREE@Yogi_Gmusic
@TheFarm_Peter That was the image I remember as a kid from K stand..True...We never got any hassle really..I/we. never subscribed to it anyway....

@mikemovies The cameo from a young Christopher Walker as Annie's brother is another great scene, beautifully sets up a fantastic visual joke
English

@Notoldjustexpe1 @NewWaveAndPunk @phatalstu @Schnitzel63 @FatOldAnarchist @ScotsPostPunk @dickidot09 Still resonates - " ..they think it's funny, turning rebellion into money...why not call up Robin Hood and ask him for some wealth redistribution?....if Adolf Hitler flew in today, they'd send a limousine anyway..." Awesome.
English

@LFC @premierleague The tunnel cam version of that goal in the Inside Anfield video is brilliant, should be set to the Benny Hill theme tune as a stream of players sprint past, trying to catch him.
English

@ATRightMovies The Mirror. Over 40 years since first seen, there are still scenes which haunt or illuminate my dreams.
English

@TonyIncenzo Opposing team trainer coming on with the bag and the sponge to tend an opponent when 2 players from the same team injured at the same time. Virtually immediate and without any prompting. Unthinkable today.

Watching mid-century classic cinema and having conversations with my girlfriend about how nice the coats are, hbu?
Godspeed You Black Tamperer (ft Maya)@twlldun
You know what the fellow said – in Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and the Renaissance. In Switzerland, they had brotherly love, they had five hundred years of democracy and peace – and what did that produce? Fucking Toblerone man. Have you ever eaten a Toblerone? Felt what that does to the roof of your fucking mouth? The triangles, man. Fucking agonising. Jesus Christ that fucking hurts. And it tastes like shit. So long, Holly.
