Thomas Tuchel has told England’s attacking players — apart from Harry Kane — that their attacking numbers have fallen below expectations this season.
"The pure numbers of our players on the wing and wherever — except for Harry — are not the outstanding numbers we would normally expect."

@OllieHolt22 It’s tough not to write in hyperbole when writing for the Daily Mail, but does this happen in other countries? Let the manager manage

If Jude Bellingham's left out of the starting line-up in the USA, Mexico and Canada this summer, it will go down as the greatest act of self-sabotage in England’s World Cup history. Column here: dailymail.co.uk/sport/football…

@PaulEmbery Price of beer to then? Plus everyone having sky television and buying beer from supermarkets. Social media doesn’t help either.

When I was growing up, pubs would often be rammed until closing time (not so much during the week, but certainly at weekends). The bell for “last orders” would usually spark a rush to the bar. These days, even the most popular pubs seem to start emptying out around 8.00-9.00pm, including on Fridays and Saturdays. Has anyone else noticed this phenomenon? Is there a reason for it?

@1607WestEgg @henrywinter Well said. The problem is when we don’t have the ball.

Liverpool fan here.
TAA has won very few caps in 8 or 9 seasons as an international. He's never nailed down a regular spot. Yes, he's an incredible passer but his defending never improved. I want my fullbacks to defend. I feel he was actually let down by Liverpool's coaching staff. Unlike early Ashley Cole, who faced similar criticisms for his defensive vulnerability, TAA never improved that side of his game. By Euro 2004, Cole had.

Still can’t believe that England are going to the World Cup without arguably their best passer. Watching fringe candidates labour at Wembley highlights even more the nonsense of Alexander-Arnold’s omission. He’s a game-changing option from the bench. If you have pace out wide in Gordon/Rashford and Saka/Madueke/Bowen and want to launch a quick counter, TAA can deliver. If England are in a shoutout, he can deliver. Risk/reward. #ENG

@TheCinesthetic Funny how the biggest critiques of authors have never written anything

Sheringham is doing what all of the other supposed legends of the club should be doing and using his voice. Would be good if the others followed suit and called the club out for the shambles it is #thfc

Have you watched The Manosphere with Louis Theroux on Netflix?
As the Dad of a 17 year old son, I think @jimmycarr is spot on.
What do you think?

@RealTimVine If both Spurs go down, who will call in to Talksport?

@MichaelGreco2 West Ham fan, but shame what’s happened to Chelsea. No characters generally, but they have particularly lost their identity. Rosenior seems like Potter 2.0

I think this would be an incredible move but these owners won’t appoint it because Cesc and John won’t be their whipping boys. No manager with any substance is gonna be controlled by these idiots, who know NOTHING about football.
Rodin Simi@RodinSimi
The moment BlueCo appoint Cesc Fàbregas as Chelsea head coach, I’ll support him from start to the end. Imagine Fàbregas as the coach, with John Terry as his assistant or part of the backroom staff. This is a dream every Chelsea fan would love to see come true.

@TheCinesthetic Face. A year before Lock, stock but far more gritty and a great soundtrack. @steviewads @robertcarlyle_ @lAMLenaHeadey @PhilDavis6 @Longpigs youtu.be/556sMREyQM0

A Bronx Tale (1993) doesn’t come up enough when people talk about great debuts, and it’s wild considering how confident De Niro is behind the camera. That pull between a father’s honesty and a gangster’s charisma feels real the whole way through.

What movie is 10/10, yet hardly anyone has heard of it?

@henrywinter He’s the best ever in the whole world, until the opposition have the ball. Stoke on Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Ben White's return to the England fold after his lengthy self-imposed exile borders on the insulting to Trent Alexander-Arnold, who continues to be overlooked by Thomas Tuchel at right-back.
Reece James injured, Kyle Walker and Kieran Trippier retired internationally and now the withdrawal of Jarell Quansah (seen as right-back cover by Tuchel). And Alexander-Arnold still not called. Real Madrid's right-back in the Champions League. A player whose passing can change games. A tournament shootout penalty-taker.
White drafted into squad because of injury to Quansah. Be interesting to see the reaction of England fans - let alone Alexander-Arnold. White has to explain why he turned his back on England for three and a half years. Expect some skilled FA video content.
Gareth Southgate said in March 2024 that White had indicated to him that he didn't want to be considered for England. There's always been speculation about a fall-out between White and Southgate's assistant Steve Holland (Southgate denied this).
Tuchel clearly doesn't rate Alexander-Arnold, a situation that gets ever stranger. White obviously a more defensive full-back; can get forward but lacks Alexander-Arnold's impact. He did well when coming on for Dani Carvajal against Atletico last night. Made Vinicius Junior's second goal.
Harvey Barnes, who has one cap, comes in for the injured Eberechi Eze for the squad to face Uruguay on Friday and Japan on March 31. #ENG
