@alldspeed @lofi_hop @JoePostingg If your argument is Mississippi might be more competitive, I'll bite. But that money that goes to MS comes out of TX or IA, where Dems are just throwing good money away if they spend there.

@lofi_hop @JoePostingg This was our gubernatorial election a year and a half ago. In special our special legislative elections six months ago, Democrats outperformed well into double digits.

Regardless of what Auchincloss did, I think Democrats, just from a policy perspective, should ask more questions of @jasonvpoulos about UBI and ways to support those who lose their jobs due to AI. Democrats are going to have to confront the job-loss issue at some point.

@MattBoxer94 It's either him or two Republicans in the general. None of the other Democrats even hit double digits in polling. Anybody waiting for a Becerra type surge -- unless Becerra endorses, which he won't -- is engaging in wishful thinking.

@birenbomb Both of whom actually live in TX-24. But the Constitution doesn't require you to live in the district you represent.

The Dallas County early vote in #TX33, which pits Rep. Julie Johnson (D) against former Rep. Colin Allred (D) Allred: 7,924 (55%) Johnson: 5,985 (45%)

@TheChrisSuprun @juliejohnsonTX Both Johnson AND Allred live in Texas-24 (Johnson in Farmers Branch, Allred in the "M Streets"). The district they represented was split into TX-24, TX-32 and TX-33. They chose TX-33 district b/c TX-24 is solidly R and they're both too liberal for an East Texas-centric TX-32.

Explain it to me like I'm 5. @juliejohnsonTX represents #TX32. She lives in #TX24 where she could have made the race competitive. Instead she moved to #TX33 for an easy run expecting her #LGBTQ backstory and history of doing nothing in incumbency to let her coast to victory?!?

@MattBoxer94 Depends on whether they're registered Democrats. BP is pretty Republican generally.

@whoseurlefty @firebornnn It's giving me the same vibes as when Khanna took down Mike Honda. I knew it was right, but all I could think was: "There's a distinct possibility this new guy is a shill for Big Tech and will stab us in the back, Joe Lieberman-style." Menefee could easily be blue-seat Fetterman.

This appears to be a reiteration of DFER. No thanks! Jessica functions to serve the whim of out of state financiers, like her buddy Jacque. I ranked Greg and now I need another ballot.

@NickyFrank30 I really wish there were a lot more polling available for NY primaries (which seem to be more competitive this year), and not just the Lander-Goldman race.

@MadLibHatter I keep joking they're a Bobby Scott retirement away from the following map, in which VA-01 doesn't take in any of Henrico or Richmond.

@JRileyMW Well technically is I was trying to match current VA-2 margins but needed VA-1 to get bluer without going into Richmond

@Nebraskademsoc @MadLibHatter The new SC-02 is R+7, the same as news SC-01. That's a big lift even in a wave year. The new SC-06 is only R+3 or so. Much swingier/competitive.

@Rybread_26 Sometimes I wonder if this is just a stalking-horse campaign to get up her name recognition and run for mayor in 2030 against whoever wins this year.

@MichaelLangeNYC The "pre-push" part of the Torres/Blake poll of 60-15 seems accurate; we already got the NY-07, NY-10 and NY-12 polls. I would really like to see a poll of this district and NY-08 just to get a broader picture of how strong establishment candidates in NY are faring.

If Espaillat loses on June 23rd, we should all revisit when he backed a challenger to State Sen. Robert Jackson in August 2022. Jackson won by 25 points, aided by a huge turnout difference between Whites west of Broadway & Latinos east of Broadway. The first crack in the armor?

@DiehardOsfan55 @MadLibHatter Not an objectionable map for everything except VA-02 and VA-03 -- and would depend on which precincts in Norfolk/Chesapeake are being selected and for what purpose.

@MadLibHatter My fair map is just a cleaner version of this. I would be happy with this map if every other state had fair maps as well, but given what Republicans are doing, anything less than 10-1 is unacceptable for 2028.

NEW: Washington, DC is spending taxpayer money producing talk shows for local celebrities covering crews, cameras, studio space and staff but cannot provide @7NewsDC with records showing exactly how much is being spent. A 7News I-Team investigation found D.C.’s Office of Cable Television, Film, Music, and Entertainment, which operated last year on a roughly $15 million budget, lacks detailed accounting records for productions including shows hosted by D.C. legend Donnie Simpson and veteran journalist Carol Joynt. Neither Simpson nor Joynt is accused of wrongdoing but D.C. Councilmember Matthew Frumin says he’s been pressing OCTFME officials to explain how much taxpayer money is being spent and what return the public is getting on that investment. Listen to DC Councilmember Frumin about the on-going issue tax payers might be hearing about for the very first time.
