"How should Democrats respond to all this?" asks @RBReich in his latest Substack. He says, "At least, pledge to: Establish Medicare for all. Institute a Universal Basic Income financed by higher taxes on those at the top, so all families have at least a subsistence wage."

Very fitting on May Day to have the former president of the SEIU —Andrew Stern— sign onto the AI Pledge for Humanity. And yesterday, the founder and CEO of the Human Rights Foundation —Thor Halvorssen— signed it. Please sign and share in support of UBI! actionnetwork.org/petitions/the-…

Great to see the first dogs leaving Ridglan Farms. Over the coming weeks, 1500 will be released. As we get a clear picture of the exact number, we need to press for ALL their release. I have a feeling companies won’t want to use Ridglan in the future, so this may be their end.🤞

How do we stop a foreign policy disaster that's hurting Americans here at home? Rep. Jake Auchincloss knows it's by winning a majority in Congress to take the reins from an out-of-control failed president. Watch:

Today is May Day. It's a day workers take to remember where the 8-hour day, the 40-hour week, and the right to organize came from. None of those things were handed down. They were the result of long, often very difficult organizing by working people. It's worth holding onto that history right now, because we are heading into a period of real change. AI is moving into millions of jobs. The companies developing it are among the most powerful in the world, and most of the workers whose lives it will affect have not been asked anything about how it should be deployed. The question we faced 140 years ago is the same question we face now: when productivity goes up, who shares in the gains? I'm running for Congress because I believe the answer has to include workers. Solidarity with everyone marching today.

Checking in on their donors and it looks like the Abundance PAC has really brought together a working class coalition of portfolio managers, retired hedge fund guys, COOs and venture capitalists

The establishment wing of the party has no mass base of support and is also hostile to the rest of the party. They are only still powerful because of their access to big money, but small dollars can now match that. This petulant faction of the party, loyal to money over people, should be simply jettisoned.

👀Mills not endorsing Platner yet, per spox: “Governor Mills has never voted for Susan Collins, and she will not do so in this election either. As Maine’s Governor, she will continue to support Democratic candidates across Maine, and she will continue to hear and watch how Graham Platner works to earn the support of Maine voters, just as she will keep a close eye on Maine’s Congressional and Gubernatorial primaries as well.”

Groceries are high, gas is high, housing is high. Wars, prosecutions & social media posts from MAGA offer no relief. On day one with a majority, Democrats must enact solutions.

I don't agree with the framing of this article, but it is objectively solid data journalism and 10x more in-depth than anything being written in the Boston Globe or Politico.

NEW: Rep. Jake Auchincloss (MA-4) is sitting on nearly $7M in cash on hand—one of the largest war chests in the country, per latest FEC filings. He also pulled in $440k in Q1 fundraising, far outpacing his primary challengers. bcheights.com/231516/metro/n…

The same consultants are paid by the campaigns the @MajorityDems network supports and by the PACs that support those campaigns. Arrangements like these stretch the anti-coordination rules to the breaking point.
The Lever@LeverNews

🚨 @MajorityDems has assembled a “party within the party” of PACs, wealthy donors, and consultants pushing Democrats to the center — and testing the limits of campaign finance law. @lukewgoldstein explains ⬇️
