@CurtisA1181 @awfulannouncing That’s literally the point I was making … wasn’t comparing arch to him. Stating they fall into completely different evaluation buckets.

@JRodgers11 @awfulannouncing Fair take you just can't say Anthony Richardson ever in a segment. Was a prospect not Arch. Team was dumb to risk it and found out fast

@RxcklessTre @marcusmyers @awfulannouncing He had one of the highest off-target % in the country, only 5 QBs had more balls hit the ground because of off-target throws (51)… which obviously doesn’t count drops or PBU’s etc…just flat out misses. What was that about cherry picking?

@FerrariFrenk @marcusmyers @awfulannouncing Exactly why I talked about there being two types taken that high. Those physically gifted like no others, and those with really good but not can’t miss physical tools that are elite technicians, efficient and incredibly accurate…like Mendoza last year

@JRodgers11 @marcusmyers @awfulannouncing Respectfully there have been plenty of non generational QBs taken at 1 that didn’t have generational physical or mental capabilities. QBs get taken at 1 if the team is desperate for a qb simple as that. Arch right now fits a draft and sit approach which is looking to be better.

Hahaha my guy appreciate that! I mean crazy…ehh I can see both sides. Not saying they should or it’d be easy…But all the LSU fans yelling at me that the goal isn’t a national championship appearance next year…only a CFP appearance… will be the same ones after LSU goes on a run, 10-2, makes the CFP, Leavitt is balling, defense is LEGIT, and they get bounced out first round saying “we should’ve gone further!!! How did Lane let us lose Rd 1” Not one LSU fan in that scenario is going “well I’m happy we made it to the CFP” they’ll all be saying Ole Miss went further than we did last year how in the hell did we lose round 1…?

@Vern_Funquist God forbid I say he’s gonna be a first rounder and not a Top 10 pick unless he cleans up his accuracy on short throws. How asinine of me….

Bro are you okay? Did you listen to the segment? I literally referenced Mendoza as an example of a non-generational physically gifted QB going #1 BECAUSE he was a technician, elite accuracy and efficient. Example #1 he was 77% on throws of 0-10, Arch was 56% and 122nd out of 133 QBs. Exactly why if he were to be in the #1 overall convo that area of his game has to improve. I’m not arguing you have to be generational to be #1 overall. I have examples of two types of QBs that get picked that high. Not sure how you are not understanding this lol

All those words don’t change the ones where you said a 1.01 QB is a generational talent and that, in your opinion, Arch isn’t that. This wasn’t a top 10 convo. I’m talking about your take on what a 1.01 QB is. We have an example from this calendar year (and others) that starkly contradicts that assertion.

There’s two categories…can’t miss generational physical tools = high ceiling, or elite efficiency = low floor. You aren’t going to draft an QB with average tools that isn’t accurate or efficient in the top 10 or first round…that’s pretty obvious. I’m not saying anything crazy in that

@JRodgers11 @marcusmyers @awfulannouncing Why does any QB have to be in that category? At the end of the day, you have to work hard and fall into the right situation regardless of generational physical traits or tools. Your brother is a perfect example of falling into the right situation and Tony Romo as well.

I didn’t say a generational QB, I said generational physical traits or tools. Big difference. Right or wrong teams will gamble on an unproven or inconsistent QB that looks and runs and can throw as far as Anthony Richardson or Jamarcus Russell. They overlook some efficiency or accuracy. I’m saying Arch is talented, but not in THAT category, so he needs to be more accurate and efficient to be a top 10 pick. Same as Mendoza was his last year.

I literally defined the two buckets top 10 picks fall into. Example one for generational physical tools is Anthony Richardson. When the physical traits are that dynamic they overlook efficiency and even accuracy at times because they believe they can develop those (right or wrong…and usually wrong lol). The other bucket is good to very good physical tools (but maybe not can’t miss once every 5 or 10 years type) and in that case they need to be a technician, efficient, elite accuracy — so their floor is so high at worst you have a solid starter in the NFL. That’s where Arch is. And that’s who Mendoza was, good traits, elite production and efficiency. The Mendoza/Arch comp hinges on the discrepancy of short passing game accuracy. Mendoza 77% on throws 0-10 yds, Manning 56% (last SEC, 122nd of 133 QBs in the country). We know Arch can make wow plays downfield and with his legs. He has to make the easy throws look easy or teams are gonna be concerned with that translating to the NFL.

@awfulannouncing I still want @JRodgers11 to tell us the “generational traits” Mendoza, Goff, Mayfield, etc had when they went 1.01. He’s still ducking that after offering up that terrible take.

Conveniently left out the part where I said he’s not “right now” as we were talking about areas he can still improve….followed by the statement that I believe he will end I’m in NYC at the Heisman ceremony and will have Texas in contention for a National Championship and play his way into being a 1st Rd pick…weird how you left out that little part for clicks…

Jordan Rodgers is DOUBTING Arch Manning again: “I don’t think Arch is a first-round draft pick… I don’t think Arch has a generational arm or generational athleticism.” Rodgers said on ESPN’s ‘Get Up’ Will Arch prove him wrong 🤔

Part of the problem is you only listen to the conversations about Arch. Talked at length this week about positives and negatives of every QB in the SEC including Leavitt (bad deep ball % last year and late to a lot of throws), Reed (states guys down especially in Red zone where he threw 3 Ints to guys not in primary coverage, also inaccurate 10-20yds because he hangs on guys and his feet get choppy so he misses big), Mateer (and his struggles mechanically with and without his injury). Said all of this on TV this week and more but you’re only seeing/caring about Arch…

I work on TV…I don’t get money for clicks. I don’t have a you tube to subscribe to. And also listen to my entire statement and you’ll see what I think of Arch…(Heisman finalist, National champ contender, and 1st Rd pick). We were discussing where he still needs to improve. So, he still needs to be more accurate, especially from 0-10 yds where he was one of the worst in the country, before we crown him the #1 pick…

And the Anthony Richardson comp is the flip side of my argument not justifying him going high. When physical tools are off the charts teams will gamble on being able to develop them as a more efficient passer (often not successfully). When physical tools are good but not generational…you better be a technician with your accuracy/efficiency so your floor is so high you can’t possible completely fail or be a bust.

Elite efficiency. Arch was the most inaccurate QB in the SEC from 0-25 yds. On throws of 0-10 yds he only competed 56% which is worst in the SEC and 122nd worst in the entire FBS. Mendoza was 77%. You have to be able to make the easy throws look easy. When physical tools are good (but maybe not crazy generational type physical tools like Anthony Richardson, etc) you have to offset that by being an elite processor and elite with ball location and accuracy. As Arch cleans up his feet his accuracy on these short intermediate throws will be better, his upper body lean that causes the off-Target throws will improve, and in turn his ball velocity and consistency spinning it will also improve. And therefore…as I said he will play himself into that 1st Rd.
