This post is an excellent litmus test for understanding of just war theory.
Despite the fact that I can see how effective this would be, I must oppose it because the damage it would do to my enemy (who bashes in my mailbox) would far outweigh the good of saving my mailbox. Its disproportionality is opposed by our duty in charity (and even justice) to watch out even for the good of our enemies.
(Yes, by the way, I have had my mailbox bashed in by random vandals.)

@thaddeusthought The explanation I’ve heard for the EO view on this topic was lacking. Saying you aren’t born with original sin implies a human COULD (clearly it’s not likely) live a sinless life. That means calvary is not needed for salvation in that extreme case. Seems like a big issue.

We do genuinely need to stop saying Orthodoxy doesnt believe in Original Sin. It should be a synonym for ancestral sin for us. We're shooting ourselves in the foot and confusing inquierers.
Instead, we need to be clear what we and the Saints mean by Original Sin, not Original Guilt, but being born distant from God since the separation of Adam and Eve.

The Nicene Creed was formalized at the Council of Nicaea in AD 325 and refined at Constantinople in 381. It was written to define orthodoxy against heresy, not to be recited mindlessly. Every line was hammered out in theological controversy.
