Those who believe that their beliefs are without flaw fail to recognise that this is, in fact, a flaw. (I don't make content. I comment.)

"He carried out the attacks to send a message not to insult the Prophet Muhammad" "McGregor is someone who let the far-right to grow" A 24-year-old man said he stabbed a garda and set the Black Forge pub in Dublin on fire last year as a message to the Government and to the pub's owner Conor McGregor not to insult the Prophet Muhammad. Abdullah Khan, whose address cannot be published because of a court order, pleaded guilty to eight charges including two terrorist offences in connection with both attacks in July of last year. He admitted that he stabbed a garda and set the pub on fire because he was a supporter of ISIS and Jihadism.

A self-described jihadist who set fire to a pub owned by Conor McGregor and later stabbed a garda on a Dublin street while shouting 'Allahu Akbar' told detectives he was inspired by the founder of Isis, Musab al-Zarqawi, and had pledged his allegiance to the terrorist organisation. courtsnewsireland.ie/jihadist-who-c…

Just a few years ago, the only tourists in El Salvador were surfers in beach towns. Going to downtown San Salvador at night? Unthinkable, even for locals.

An Al Jazeera reporter showed up in London’s famous Jewish neighborhood Golders Green after antisemitic vandals set 4 ambulances used by Jewish volunteers on fire. The residents told her that Al Jazeera employees stormed Israel on October 7th 2023. She denied it. Looks like she conveniently forgot about the Al Jazeera correspondent Ismail Abu Omar who stormed Kibbutz Nir Oz with Hamas terrorists on October 7. He is a Hamas platoon commander in the East Khan Younis Battalion. She also forgot about the Al Jazeera reporter Ismail al-Ghoul who turned out to also be a member of Hamas’s elite Nukhba Force. He participated in the invasion of southern Israel on October 7th and was killed in an Israeli strike in July 2024. The Islamists from the Qatari state television channel have been embedded in Hamas for years.

Fine example of a journalistic hatchet job. Digging into the TD's family background in an attempt to smear him personally is particularly loathsome. Also, the author casually dismisses the well-documented link in international studies between migration and crime with a 'oh, that's disputed' and an 'out of context.' Then he just... doesnt elaborate further. So we're just supposed to take his word for it? The 'trust me bro' school of journalism. Now, the organisers of the Women's event here in Ireland are just calling for the data to be recorded and published so policy here can be based on informed fact. So why would a journalist be opposed to something like that? Why would he want this to remain hidden? Because he knows exactly what the figures would show up - and that just doesnt fit his cosy little world view. Is it sexist to publish the gender of a criminal? Ageist to say how old they are? Classist to say they come from a working class area? Of course not - that's all fine. But ethnicity? Ah you can't do that now. Its also worth keeping in mind that last year, the Irish Examiner and its partner paper the Irish Times was 'awarded' hundreds of thousands of euro in tax payers money - not through direct Government payments (which would be a tad obvious) but through various schemes and projects. But the fact remains - the Government funnels money to these papers. So readers should be aware when they read an article designed to take the legs out from under an opposition leader that the paper is being kept afloat by Government money. @kenoflynnTD

I am incredibly proud of Isra and everyone who made the trip to Cuba. They took tons of aid to make sure the people of Cuba knew that there are so many people across the world who stand in solidarity with them. Cuba has always sent aid to countries in need and has trained thousands of physicians across the world, including my childhood physician. @israhirsi is more than just my daughter, she is a brilliant young leader who has always worked hard to advocate for a more just world. She inspires me and so many people with her leadership and dedication. I am forever fortunate to have her as my daughter but I am even more fortunate to know her as the unflinching justice warrior for justice she is. #letcubalive

As a Cuban refugee and former political prisoner, I am appalled that you and your daughter are supporting the regime that has oppressed us for 67 years. The aid does not reach ordinary Cubans—it is sold in dollar stores—while you help whitewash a dictatorship. Shame on you, and shame on your daughter.

These days I view the @IrishTimes and @rte just like the local radio and newspaper. It’s nice they support local business but I wouldn’t dream of going to them for news. My mother has stuck with them, but she’s 91 - if she was 20 years younger she’d be getting her news online
Laoise de Brún | Barrister | Seanad Candidate@laoisedebrun

Dear Irish Times You didn’t ask me on but discussed me and my work in detail so let me assist on the question posed in your heading and a few other gaping holes. 1. I am the CEO of an organisation called @TheCountessIE. We incorporated a number of years ago. I am one of three directors. 2. We weren’t “involved in a failed Referendum” but this description from @IrishTimes is quite the tell. For us as grassroots leaders of a No/No campaign that spanned 30 locations over 7 weeks, this was a landslide victory. We view the 73.9% who voted to retain A41.2 as our constituency. 3. Our constituency do not want men in female spaces or services, prisons or shelters, sports or quotas. They know a man cannot be a woman and equality is predicated on certain accommodations like single sex spaces which provide safety, dignity and privacy for women and girls. They do not want their children indoctrinated into gender, or any other ideology at school. Far from being a twitter constituency as you describe, they are the majority. 4. Our advocacy stopped the Government removing the word woman from Maternity legislation. Our advocacy stopped the rollout of mixed sex toilets in schools. Our advocacy helped defeat the planned collapse of the gender ground and transposition of hate speech. 5. We have evolved to address the impact of immigration which like trans, is a sacred pillar of the new left that the electorate were not allowed to vote on. We observe how the media behaves the same way with regard to each of these issues. 6. We are alive to, and well versed in, the use of an ad hominem response because we dare challenge the narrative. 7. We know we represent the majority and will continue the work. 8. The work has been recognised globally. @TheCountessIE has addressed/briefed the UN alone three times, the EU parliament, Houses of Parliament, US Assistant AG among others. 9. Thank you for the ongoing coverage of the issue at hand which is the risk presented to women and children by the policy of housing unscreened male migrants en masse in residential areas. Le meas, Laoise de Brún BL

Are there any Irish journalists out there who are not blatant supporters of mass migration? Are there even any professional enough not to let their view on the subject turn their work into something that sounds like a People Before Profit press release? Ignore the fact that this paper's polls show a vast majority of the people are against current migration trends. Ignore the fact that the topic is a group of women simply asking for data published across Europe to be released here. But where's the journalistic integrity in using the 'paper of record' as your own personal soap box? It's constant - every major political podcast in Ireland is used to casually kick the living shit out of anyone who voices opposition to migration. You'd get a pain in your arse listening to it. open.spotify.com/episode/6zpKbt…
