Interesting note from today's Musk v. OpenAI trial: OpenAI's attorneys produced a 2017 email where Musk directed his own family office head to establish a for-profit entity "in case it was needed." This directly contradicts his core argument that a for-profit structure always violated the mission. His response: "I needed control because I was providing almost all the money." That's not the same argument he's been making publicly.
