This is an important blog post for anyone in #EmergencyMedicine #residency leadership. It should be an important post for the @acgme. And it should be important to any of the hundreds of hospitals that also say they supported #BLM & #DEI initiatives.

@eblazar 💯 agree. Applicants and programs should create a list that extend well beyond their rank lists. That list isn’t used used until an applicant needs to soap. It’s not hard. The process is already in place for gods sake!

@Rick_Pescatore I have much more hope. EM can’t ever go away 🤷🏻♂️. Patients keep showing up. CMGs reacted to where they thought the money was (like they always do.) And now, there won’t be money there, so it’ll flux back. Give it 5 years. Maybe only 3. We just gonna keep doing what we do ;) 👊👊

I am saddened by the implosion of emergency medicine residency training we say yesterday, and fearful for the future consequences.
On top of that, I’ve been particularly burned out recently…

Anyone know why, pathophysiologically speaking, pediatric transient synovitis only affects the hip?
I'm curious, and can't come up with a good explanation in my head
Do I just miss it in the wrist?
Is there an anatomic difference?

@spoonfedem uh, friends…this is a retrospective chart review that shows who got intubated (hence the title!). It does not IN ANY WAY suggest who needs intubation. 🤬! This basic understanding of how literature should be used is required for us to trust your service.
