"Ah, Victor!" Tyler Stone said as he entered the Alchemax VIP Suite overlooking the skyline of Nueva York. "I trust that my team has provided you a welcome worthy of a king?"
"Doom did not come here to be pampered, Mr. Stone," the Doctor Doom of the year 2099 replied. "He came to do business."
"Right to the point," Stone said. "I can appreciate that. And please, you can call me Tyler."
"And you may call me His Royal Highness Victor von Doom."
"A little long..." Stone responded, "...but after all you've done to help Alchemax, I'll call you whatever you want. After all, we couldn't have possibly cracked the code on Chronovium if you hadn't provided us those samples."
"Exploiting that Mutant's power to infuse the crystals with interdimensional energy was an inspired choice," Doom said. "Using those same crystals in a poorly planned attempt to colonize the past, however, was unwise... and certainly not a part of the strategy we discussed."
"I agree that we may have been a bit ambitious in our efforts to expand operations across the Chronoverse," Stone admitted. "We didn't anticipate New York's Mayor or those heroes to put up such a strong resistance. Hell, even our genetically enhanced enforcers, the Corporate Raiders, couldn't defeat the same Mutants we'd cloned them from! But though our little timeline merger may have been called off for now, I always say that even a failed experiment still teaches us valuable lessons."
"Doom wouldn't know," Doom replied. "He has never failed."
"Of course you haven't," Stone said. "And the latest reports from finance support that claim. It's clear you lived up to your end of the deal. So, tell me, how were you able to shut down Emma Frost's Hellfire Trading Company so quickly?"
"It was quite simple, really," Doom replied. "During Frost's Hellfire Gala, she nearly begged me to siphon off the residual chronal energy from the Timestream Entanglement that had been poisoning Krakoa. Little did she realize that, in saving her nation, I would be forcing the living island into a period of healing that would prevent it from generating the miracle medicines produced by its rare flora."
"Now, with Krakoan pharmaceuticals off the market, Alchemax is the only other option," Stone said with a smile. "We're making a fortune! Are you sure you don't want to be cut in on a percentage?"
"Wealth is for lesser men," Doom said. "Power is what Doom seeks."
"Ask and ye shall receive," Stone said, handing Doom a container. Inside, a crystal of Punch Chronovium glowed a dazzling red.
"I believe our partnership has reached its natural conclusion," Doom said as he stood to leave.
"You sure?" Stone asked. "We have an open seat on our Board of Directors... and Alchemax could use a visionary like you."
"My vision is far too grand for a mere corporation... Tyler..." Doom snarled from behind his mask, insulted by the offer. "If Doom runs anything, it shall be the Chronoverse itself... and all will kneel before him. Even you."
