@to_earth_1 @OpenSourceZone GOP is going to keep the House, Senate and obviously the Presidency. The House is actually quite easy to understand via Inside Elections. They have 217-207 with none of the Southern States redrawn. Senate is 51-55 GOP.

@wisconsin_now Tom Tiffany use common sense. Trump would 100% BACK THIS. You're not going to win the key voters ONLY TRUMP has in WI unless you have some more moderate (like a few) policies. Trump won because he wasn't idealogical

Man, I’m almost starting to feel sorry for Gov. Evers, abandoned by his own side. Believing their rhetoric about wanting to fund schools and now learning it was all BS, like a broken relationship where he finally sees the truth about his own people. They’ve moved past him - to the far, far left. Maybe he can offer someone something to vote yes (time will tell), but it shouldn’t be this hard. I am sure Democrat Senators all have crazy asks. Most of the Democrat governor candidates are now against extra funding for schools. Evers’ thought bubble: “What???!” Actually, it’s not a thought bubble. He called fellow Democrats’ rhetoric and positioning here the “dumbest thing” and a “stupid idea” today. Just wow. Meanwhile, Tom Tiffany is bashing a bill supported by all Republican legislators except Steve Nass, Chris Kapenga, and Lindee Brill, which I understand even less. Is he used to running in a +27R district and hasn’t moved from that mindset to a general election strategy? Because it’s not wise to be against a bill that lets folks keep their overtime and tips, gives them property tax relief, and that funds special ed. Not when the election will turn on affordability. Telling people, I’m going to do something else down the road if I win doesn’t work when you’re opposing what they could get NOW. It’s just not a good play, and I am not pretending otherwise. Too much is at stake. Trust me, I’m not the only one confused by this pivot. Is he being advised by DC comms guys who sit on X and don’t get what’s happening on the doors? Until now, I thought he had run a tone-perfect campaign. The Assembly can be saved for Republicans. But it’s a 50-50 proposition at best. The six Republican legislators in the swing districts NEED this deal to go through. They need to be able to tell voters they’re doing concrete things to help them. They need the education and tax relief message. Having the eventual Republican nominee railing at them doesn’t help. Many are outside talk radio’s influence. This doesn’t help Tiffany win and it doesn’t help Republicans keep control of the Legislature. Lucky for them, the Democrats are almost all taking positions that won’t help them win either so maybe it cancels itself out. Except Missy Hughes, who has no chance of winning the governor’s race anyway. Frankly, both sides are melting down into bizarre divisions, and I understand neither. Evers vs Dems, Tiffany vs Repubs… What? I don’t get why one side doesn’t wake up and say, you know, if OUR side gets unified here, the OTHER side is going to look pretty bad. Stay out of the way of it. Sheesh. Is there some grand poobah who can drag everyone into a smoke filled room on the Republican side and get that done?

@JVENABLECIN @JoseButWithPH @QuantusInsights 2026, by all accounts should be older than 24. Every single year the voting base has gotten older. In Texas the 2026 GOP and DEM primary voter were both older than their 2024 counter parts. Which in turn was older than 2022. etc.

Our Kentucky GOP primary sample is not 55% 65+ and/or it is not “55% boomers.” That claim is simply wrong. Our age segment tracks our benchmarked GOP primary electorate, where older voters make up a large share of the expected turnout universe but not 55%.

The makeup in 22 was - 45% 62+ - 68% 50+ The makeup in 20 was - 40% 62+ - 63% 50+ For 2018 it was - 37% 62+ - 62% 50+ And 2016 - 36% 62+ - 62% 50+ It follows the trend that since the start of Trump in politics the primary voter base has gotten older. Which mirrors the general election base getting older. Each midterm has been older than the previous general.

Under Pritzker & Democrat leadership, Illinois has surpassed New York to have the highest combined local and state tax rate in the country. When I was governor, I refused to raise taxes on the people. But a few months after I was hijacked from office, the Dems raised the income tax by 66%.

The electoral environment is keeping Democrats afloat: -Trump's job approval/disapproval is 40%/57%. -Democrats lead by 6.5 on the generic ballot, which would equal an 8-point swing from Trump +1.5 in 2024's popular vote. Read more about the House: decisiondeskhq.substack.com/p/house-2026-d…

Alabama's map likely hands Republicans +1 seat. But as DDHQ's newsletter lays out, Democrats are still somewhat favored to flip the House despite recent GOP redistricting gains. Unlike district lines, President Trump's job approval probably won't be comprehensively redrawn.

@DecisionDeskHQ Yes and the election is in November so a "6% lead" right now is not at all a guarantee to be the result. Factor in the GOP is getting much more motivated, and Dems will lose seats with fringe candidates they could win.

Republicans will almost certainly gain from redistricting, improving their chances of holding the House. But Democrats are still favored to flip the House. Trump's approval is bad & Dems have led generic ballot by 4-6 points, which more likely than not swings the House to Dems.

Governor Pritzker last week called the SCOTUS ruling on Louisiana redistricting “voter suppression that will silence black and brown voters.” An odd way to characterize the decision, the ruling held that the creation of a second majority-Black congressional district was unconstitutional racial gerrymander. Pritzker’s criticism is a smokescreen to conceal Illinois most gerrymandered districts in history. How is it Chicago shares a part of 7-8 of the states 17 Congressional districts despite having fewer than a fourth of the state’s population? The objective of the Democratic-drawn map isn’t equity. The purpose is to perpetuate one-party rule in which Democrats hold 14 of 17 Congressional seats and the state map gives that Republicans a veto proof state house and senate for the past decade. Pritzker lied in 2018 when he was first running for governor and promised to create an independent commission to draw political maps vowing to veto any "political," gerrymandered, or partisan map.

@PaulVallas Thank you for doing the job of the weak IL media, like Chicago Tribune and Others. Pritzker did say an independent commission and instead IL received an F- for gerrymandering by a non-partisan anti-gerrymandering group in 2022. Pritzker is so full of shit it's funny.
