I just had the most wonderful conversation with @tommy_prusa3d from @Prusa. We have a strategy for addressing the issues with my #XL5T that will hopefully fix the problems. I am hopeful at this point.🙂 Thank you, Tommy!

@tommy_prusa3d @reprinted3D @Prusa3D @PrintedSolid This is a super sensible offer. Make it an event and fix it in real time. Others will learn and maybe Prusa could give you a couple free spools for the effort :). Plus you’ll get some exposure. This, to me, seems like a win win:).

Hey @reprinted3D ! I would highly advise against any long prints in this stage as we basically have already confirmed that there is an error with the extruder cable, and it could just randomly error out until that issue is resolved. I was going over the options with Printed Solid, and how to best move the issue on, and we can offer either of the following: 1) We do a live fixup of the printer at RMRRF and make a fun event of it to get this working together with everyone around. We have a good idea of the issue so we can take spare parts for that with us 2) We ship the printer back to Printed Solid and fully refund you.

Oh, look @Prusa3D @tommy_prusa3d @PrintedSolid, just now, trying to salvage the failed helmet print, the extruder motor error…AGAIN! This is with tool 3 moved to tool 1, as per Sebastian’s ask, to help diagnose whether it’s a cable problem or a board problem, or what… I feel like I’m beta testing a $4000 printer at this point.

I hope you can find a way to salvage that relationship! =) and get your printer fixed.. PrintSolid is pretty solid for responses too (no pun intended, maybe).
