@lewisknaggs42 Why doesn’t it hover for a good long while? What would the downsides be? More data and heat shield inspection.

NASA has selected Astrolab and Lunar Outpost to build lunar rovers for the early Artemis missions. These will be approximately 1-ton vehicles with the capability to drive up to 200 km.

@SIMOZT1 Someone else asked a good question, why don’t they hover longer for this test? Nothing to lose. Just longer inspection time.

@StarCobShipSon @ArthuluY92852 How much will performance increase when they can land at a down range port instead of returning to home base. Imagine an airplane that drops a package off and has to return to its takeoff location to land.

@ArthuluY92852 They want to squeeze as much performance outta this thing. Faster boostback = less gravity loss means they can use a little more fuel on ascent

I wonder if SpaceX will recover the Raptor 3 from this latest test flight. Those engines would be quite the technological gold mine for anyone willing to fish them out

@VickiCocks15 @LabPadre Sorry I meant the tower simulating while the booster landed, curious to see the top deck deluge again! Thanks Vicki! Now go to bed isn’t it like 2am??

@J_C_Reviews @LabPadre with the ship, yes. All ship's landing manoeuvres were as though it was a RTLS, from what I got from the commentary. The tower, however didn't move a cog! (so to speak)

Launch Mount looks good! Hold down clamps look to have re-deployed ok. Bit of paint damage, but otherwise...so far so good! @LabPadre

@ScottLikedSLS what? for raptor 3, can you restart the outer 20? I'm pretty sure the outer ring does not relight.

@pewpewturtle69 I remember with pad 1 that they only had enough water for one shot. And it’d take 2 days of water tankers to refill. Now they do 3 shots in one day?

@VickiCocks15 @LabPadre It only just clicked for me that they’re rushing to pump out more vehicles so they can send some to Florida for validating the pad there.

Last night, the B21 A3:4 section was brought to the ring yard, staging outside MB-1. The BTR departed, indicating B19 is back on a stand. Around 04:00 the A3:4 was moved into the bay for stacking. @LabPadre

Last night, crews were working to join the new, lower-placed uni-vent to the old exit pipe (where the tri-vent used to join) above, using a new pipe section. @LabPadre
