@The_Vegan_Daily I know. Those poor mice and snakes killed by the combine harvester. Awful.

“Humane slaughter” is an oxymoron. Killing someone who doesn’t want to die can NEVER be compassionate.

@ScottAppliedSci It’s carbs plus fat which is the problem. Ditch one of them, but ditching carbs is easier as high fat diet MUCH more satiating and easier to do a calorie deficit.

@veganfitnessric I love little mice and voles and lizards and spiders and bees too much to be vegan. Can’t bare the thought of all those creatures being wiped out by the combine so I’ve gone for one cow and half a lamb a year.

Actions speak louder than words. So if you say you love animals and truly mean it, you should be vegan.

For the millionth time … media!!! No trans athlete is banned. They just need to play with others of the same sex as them. A male does not qualify for a category for females, anymore than an 17yr old qualifies for the under 10s

Nearly four years in and I don’t understand this disease. I’m crashing so hard tonight. Heart pounding. Cheeks flushed. Nausea. Can’t think. I barely did anything today. Why?! #longcovid #PEM #MECFS

@J_Valec @ScottAppliedSci I honestly don't care.. I am hungry right now, it is 3:40pm and so far I have had 3 eggs and coffee at morning. Well good, I am gonna enjoy dinner more... Why are you people so focused on being comfortable all the time, don't you have work to do?

No disrespect to Chris, but I suspect that it is almost always and overestimate of their daily energy needs and/or an underestimate of their intake. There's another problem that I am not accusing Chris of: many people just say they stuck to calorie counting, but they're lying.
Chris S. Cornell@BiggestComeback

During the decades I struggled to lose body fat by focusing solely on CICO, I can assure you—the reason for my failure was never an inability to accurately count calories. I suspect obesity is very rarely a problem of poor measuring or math skills.

@VeganSupremeTM @CptTristanMarik Stop perpetuating the vegan myth that humans ever survived on b12 from dirt. It’s BS. Before b12 supplements were invented, only a few decades ago, humans had to get b12 from eating animal produce. And to dispel the other lie you spout, cattle are not routinely supplemented b12.

@CptTristanMarik It comes from untreated water and soil. The animals we eat don't produce B12, just like we don't. Not only that, but the animals people eat are likely given B12 supplements.

@SBakerMD FFS! Ignorance. I was once warned off a keto diet by a nutritionist who said I would get ketoacidosis. I’ve never been diabetic.

Just did a consultation with a young type 1 diabetic, 30 years old, diabetic since 9 years of age Developed significant retinopathy in his eyes and now has gastroparesis His A1C runs around 7.2 which his endocrinologist is ok with, because he’s a type 1 and it’s pretty typical for them He does not want him going on a low carb diet because it’s “dangerous” FFS!!!

@jan_siba @ScottAppliedSci The point is if you’re feeling hungry on a calorie deficit you’re eating the wrong food. Hunger can be overwhelming. Calorie deficit is a doddle if you eat high fat low carb.

@ScottAppliedSci I am always amazed, how people complain abou being hungry. So what?I am hungy all the time, just get used to it.. it is like listening to children. Few days (3-5) fast is IMHO the best way to learn to cope with hunger. But you dont have to it, just embracing the hunger is enough

One of the most powerful habits for protecting brain health isn’t a diet, supplement, or workout. It’s sleep. Both quantity and quality matter. Aim for 7–9 hours with enough deep sleep for the brain’s repair and cleanup. If brain health is a priority, sleep should be too.

@Vegansup @ChristianJsays @StanleyVit7349 You just have to look with a critical eye and read other world renowned scientists’ take to know it’s not solid. Plant protein is not complete protein. Plants don’t contain essential micronutrients etc etc. Non fungibility of marginal land etc etc.

@J_Valec @ChristianJsays @StanleyVit7349 Poore & Nemecek (2018) was published in Science, one of the world’s most rigorous peer-reviewed journals. It covered 38,700 farms across 119 countries. And it’s been independently confirmed by Oxford’s 2023 Nature Food study (55,000 real people, not models). The data is solid. 🌱

RSV jabs are currently being pushed - alongside what might be the 12th Covid jab for some! 😲 They want everyone over 75 years (5m of those in the UK) and pregnant women (6-700k of those) jabbed. The patient info leaflet cautions "Guillain-Barré syndrome may affect up to 1 in 1,000." That's c. 5,000 elderly people and monstrously 650 pregnant women paralysed to avoid a mild cold. That's one hell of a lottery 😡

A gorilla has a colon the length of a small motorway. It ferments plant matter for up to 24 hours. It eats all day. Every day. Just to stay alive. It still can't fully digest cellulose. It extracts maybe 30% of the calories from the fibre it consumes. The rest exits approximately as it entered. A cow has four stomachs. Four. It regurgitates its food, chews it a second time, passes it back through, ferments it with specialised bacteria, neutralises the resulting acid, and extracts nutrition from grass that would be entirely indigestible to any primate on earth. Then there's you. You have a stomach the size of a fist, a colon that runs for about five feet, and a digestive transit time of roughly 24-72 hours. You have almost no capacity for fibre fermentation. You have essentially no cellulase. Your gut is optimised for one thing: dense, calorie-rich, rapidly digestible animal protein. You are not built to process plants. But here's the beautiful thing. You don't have to. The cow has already done it. It took the grass, ran it through four stomachs and a rumen of microorganisms, and produced beef. The beef arrives at the other end pre-converted. Bioavailable. Ready. You outsourced the hard part ten thousand years ago when you domesticated ruminants. You are the apex predator that invented a living food processing system. And somewhere, a nutritionist is telling you to eat more fibre.
