If your mission was genuinely to submit a petition, the appropriate authorities would have received it through the proper channels. Security agencies are not in the business of blocking lawful civic engagement. Stop turning routine procedures into a spectacle. Respect the court, follow due process, and let institutions do their work.

Fundamentally, the matter extends beyond the mere fact of a missed court date. Compliance with scheduled court appearances is a fundamental condition attached to the grant of bail. Consequently, where a defendant fails to appear without lawful justification or prior approval of the court, such absence may be construed as a violation of the terms of bail, empowering the court to take appropriate measures to compel attendance. In law, such measures are typically employed where the court is satisfied that there is a likelihood of continued non-compliance or a risk that the defendant's conduct may impede, delay, or otherwise undermine the effective administration of justice.

His persistent promotion of ethnic superiority narratives and attempts to drive a wedge between Hausa and Fulani communities raise legitimate concerns. If the DSS is investigating him within the bounds of the law, such scrutiny is understandable and justified. Rather than offering practical solutions to address terrorism and insecurity, he appears more preoccupied with inflammatory rhetoric, ethnic profiling, and disparaging an entire group of people, which risks deepening divisions instead of fostering national unity.

It has come to our notice that one of the strongest northern voices against banditry and also an advocate for the Hausa people, Bichiia Maisango , was arrested and has been in the DSS office for days. The reality many fail to understand is that you can cage a man, but you cannot cage the truth; even if you attempt to, you cannot cage it forever. Ethnic consciousness or standing against bandits and terrorists is not a crime and can never be. Free him now.

Sowore's absence from court is significant not simply because he missed one hearing, but because appearing in court is a fundamental condition of bail. Under Nigerian law, when a defendant fails to attend court without a valid excuse, the court may view it as a breach of bail conditions, revoke the bail, and issue a bench warrant for arrest. This power exists to ensure defendants do not frustrate the judicial process and that court proceedings continue effectively. Whether the court's decision in Sowore's case was justified depends on the explanation for his absence and the specific circumstances presented before the court.

ADEYANJU CONDEMNS REVOCATION OF SOWORE’S BAIL SAYS DECISION TOO HARSH, APPEALS TO PRESIDENT TINUBU, DG SSS TO WITHDREW CHARGE The decision to revoke Omoyele Sowore’s bail appears rather harsh in the circumstances. Having previously granted him bail on self-recognizance, the court ought to have given greater consideration to the fact that he was present in court on the previous adjourned date when the court did not sit, had written to seek an adjournment, and currently has no counsel on record formally representing him. Given that he has previously faced far more serious allegations, including treasonable felony related charges, without absconding, it is difficult to justify the conclusion that he would evade trial over the present charges. The courts must always be guided by the presumption of innocence, particularly where a defendant has not shown a pattern of disregard for the judicial process. Both the court and the prosecution should be careful not to create the impression that this is a deliberate attempt to prevent him from participating in the next general election. Furthermore, i call on President Bola Tinubu who was a fervent critic as an opposition leader and the Director-General of DSS to discontinue the charge against Omoyele Sowore in the interest of pluralism and justice.   DEJI ADEYANJU, ESQ.

The DSS has spent years tracking terrorists, kidnappers, bandits, separatist agitators involved in violence, arms traffickers, and other threats to national security. Those operations rarely generate headlines because successful intelligence work is often invisible. But somehow, one viral tweet is expected to erase years of security work. Nigeria deserves a more serious conversation than that.

It may be difficult for some compatriots to hear, but a nation governed by a leader @officialABAT involved drug-trafficking stands little chance of getting its moral compass right. When those at the very top set the tone, the institutions responsible for upholding integrity are inevitably shaped in that image. That is why officials such as @OfficialDSSNG Director-General Tosin Ajayi owe their loyalty not to the Nigerian people, but to the interests of the cartel. They should all be reminded, as we have repeatedly reminded public officials intoxicated by naked power, that no abuse of power lasts forever. A day of reckoning is always near. #RevolutionNow

Politics is not a Nollywood production, sir. It's time to approach the matter with seriousness. If the allegations are true, return whatever you received from Atiku and move on with your life. On another note, can anyone confirm whether Seedgive is still paying its users? I've been hearing a lot about it on this Opera News channel and would appreciate reliable information.

I heard from the social media that ADC has picked its vice presidential candidate from the South-South. If this is true, it is unfortunate, as this will continue the crude marginalisation of the South-East. This Geo-Political Zone has neither produced a President or Vice President since 1999. To deny the South-East the opportunity to produce the President or Vice President in ADC in 2027 will amount to perpetuating the marginalisation. The ADC was founded by Ralphs Nwosu from the South-East in 2005. He made the sacrifice to give up the party in 2025 for the coalition to usher in a better Nigeria. He couldn't have made that sacrifice to marginalise his own people. I did not join the coalition to assist in the further marginalisation of my own people. I am of the opinion that if we made a sacrifice to give up the National Chairman and the President, it will amount to unpardonable injustice to deny us the Vice President in 2027. I joined politics to fight for a better Nigeria where no region, Geo-Political Zone, or person will be marginalised. The only favour I asked Atiku Abubakar, who openly declared that he is the pathway to the presidency of the South-East, is to show it by choosing someone from the South-East to be his Vice. If it is confirmed that he has chosen a candidate from the South-South, I wish him well. I am not favourably disposed to campaigning for any presidential ticket that does not have a person of South-East origin as President or Vice in 2027.

From the arrest of the Mahmuda to the prosecution of the Owo church attackers, the arrest of ESN operatives allegedly masquerading as bandits, and the apprehension and prosecution of those behind the St. Mary's attack, the DSS has continued to play its role in safeguarding the country. How much more needs to be done before these efforts are acknowledged? This Senate directive appears difficult to understand in light of these documented achievements.

It is the responsibility of the DSS to gather and disseminate intelligence, a duty it has consistently carried out. With the NSCDC serving as the lead agency for the Safe School Initiative (SSI), the proactive intelligence alert now places the onus on relevant stakeholders to act decisively. Critical information of this nature must not be treated lightly. Beyond government agencies, local communities also have a vital role to play by remaining vigilant and supporting efforts to safeguard our schools and children.

We are confronted with a moment in history that may never come again. A time to reclaim our space. A time to look around us and choose what will improve our lives instead of continuing to embrace the very forces that have diminished and impoverished us. A time to break with old habits, old fears, and failed ideas. A time to imagine a new future and summon the courage to build it. This is a moment for the people, not for those who profit from our suffering, divide us, and hold us back. History rarely offers a nation endless opportunities for renewal. When such moments arrive, they must be seized with conviction, courage, and clarity of purpose. If we are not careful, this revolutionary moment may pass us by, and future generations will ask why we failed to act when the chance was before us. The time is now. The choice is ours. The future is waiting. #Sowore2027 #TakeItBack #RevolutionNow #VoteWisely

So where did Peter, the ever-clueless “Mama P,” get the story that you were beaten and tortured? Even Nnamdi Kanu, during his time in @OfficialDSSNG custody, openly acknowledged having access to his lawyers and even personal comforts, @Waspapping_ also testified. The DSS has consistently demonstrated professionalism and restraint, even when dealing with difficult and confrontational individuals like you.

My Experience with the DSS @OfficialDSSNG (Department of State Services) -PART ONE I want to clearly state that this is my personal experience and account. On the night of April 30th, after days of being blindfolded and held by some unidentified men who initially claimed to be from the DSS — but whom I later discovered were not DSS officials — I was eventually taken to a DSS facility. At the time, I was still blindfolded and handcuffed. After arriving at the facility, I heard someone instruct that my blindfold should not be removed until we were inside. Shortly after, the blindfold was removed, and for the first time in days, I was able to see properly again. My vision was initially unclear but gradually improved. The officer who received me spoke calmly and assured me that I was safe. He asked if I knew where I was, and I replied yes because I could see the DSS logo on the wall. He noticed I was shaking and visibly traumatized, and he tried to calm me down. At that point, I was extremely scared and confused because I still did not fully understand my situation or why I had been taken in the first place. That same night, I was given tea and bread — the first proper meal I had eaten in days. I was also taken to the medical unit where my blood pressure and general health condition were checked to ensure I was medically stable. Afterwards, I was taken to a room with other detainees and provided with a bed and duvet. For the first time in days, I was able to sleep comfortably. The following morning, the investigation team began questioning me. Because the matter is still before the court, I will not go into details about the investigation itself. However, based on my personal experience, the DSS officials I interacted with treated me professionally and respectfully throughout my stay. Nobody shouted at me, physically assaulted me, or used force against me during the period I spent there. They also ensured that I had food and basic care, and I was even asked if there were specific meals I preferred during the process. I also observed that officials handling my case remained active on the matter, including during weekends and public holidays. From my own experience, I can say that the DSS demonstrated professionalism in the way they handled me. At the same time, no institution is perfect, and like every agency, there are areas where improvements can still be made — particularly regarding the speed of investigations and certain administrative processes. Again, this is strictly my personal experience and should be understood as such.

Aloy Ejimakor, as a lawyer, should know better. Why would the @OfficialDSSNG deny having a suspect in custody if the person was truly with them? When @MaziNnamdiKanu was in DSS custody, Ejimakor himself could attest that his family, lawyers, friends, and other well-wishers had access to him. So why resort to unnecessary propaganda against an agency that has clearly stated it does not have the suspect in custody?

Both @icpcnigeria and @OfficialDSSNG are govt agencies, and the govt may decide at any time where one should be reminded. It is govt responsibility to feed suspect in theur custody and not family members. So if El-Rufai decided not to eat food that is served, that's his problem. When Nnamdi Kanu was in dss custody, his lawyers and NMA testified that he was well taken care of. So, relax. The best thing is to avoid crime if you don't want to be subjected to this.
