Sound equipment was impounded at Afruni Bar situated at the corner of Queen & Langerman Streets in Kensington by #JMPD #RegionF1 operations officers for contravening Regulation 9(a) read with Regulation 18 of the Noise Control Regulations, 1999 (RW Regulations). This action followed complaints from the community members regarding a disturbance of peace caused by excessive noise from the establishment. Working on info received regarding stolen electronic equipment taken during a business robbery in Randburg. #JMPD TRU officers followed the tracking device linked to the stolen items which signalled at a pawn shop on West Street in Kempton Park. Upon arrival at the premises, the officers found a male who identified himself as the shop's manager. He was questioned & requested to provide documentation for the items in his possession but failed to do so. The suspect was subsequently placed under arrest for possession of suspected stolen property (Native Instruments machine, 2x StudioLive AR16C, Korg SoundLink, StudioLive 32S, Wavestate synthesizer mixer & Korg Minilogue). #JMPD TRU officers received information about a truck allegedly offloading a white substance at Shaft 17 Street, Crown Mines. They proceeded to the specified location & found five males offloading goods. The officers requested documentation & receipts for the goods. The suspects failed to produce any form of documentation. Upon further investigation it was discovered that the stock had been stolen from a warehouse in Booysens. A total of 110x bags were recovered at the scene. It was further established that additional bags had already been offloaded in North West before the suspects proceeded to the above-mentioned address. ♦️ JUST IN ♦️ Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department officers have arrested suspects for drunk and driving, reckless and negligent driving, and possession of a firearm while under the influence of alcohol. The suspects were arrested and detained at Hillbrow SAPS. The firearm has been confiscated and will undergo ballistic testing as part of the investigation. #JMPD officers received info from members of the public reporting suspicious movement of different vehicles entering & exiting the area. The officers proceeded to the location on foot at Commissioner & Nugget Street in Joburg & observed the movements. A white Isuzu bakkie was parked in the passage next to the building with one male occupant. The officers approached the driver & inspected the vehicle. They discovered that the VIN & Engine numbers had been tampered with. While testing the vehicle on the e-natis system the results were positive as per the SunnySide SAPS case of a stolen vehicle.
