What an amazing, sunny weekend in Basingstoke! Yesterday we launched my listening campaign, to hear from residents in Eastrop and Grove ahead of the next General Election. We had an amazing team of 40 volunteers over the day, out on the doorstep to speak to residents.

I am proud to have signed @JimfromOldham's letter to Tory MPs calling on them to back Labour's bill to clean up the #sewagescandal affecting Hampshire's rivers. Tory MPs - including Basingstoke's Maria Miller - have voted to allow sewage to be dumped in rivers around Hampshire.

*New data* from the Environment Agency shows that there were 1.75 million hours of sewage spills in the UK last year - an average of 824 spills per day. So why won't Conservative politicians back Labour's plan to clean up the mess?

Where is Basingstoke's new hospital? The NHS is facing a national crisis, but Basingstoke has been particularly let down by the Conservatives. Maria Miller made a new hospital a central promise of her last election campaign, but nothing has happened.
