Forest .. Sigh not again I thought after being present for the Reds only loss earlier this season but that’s not the tale of the night to be truthful I was behind the LFC goal last night and for the first 8 minutes after kick off they looked like they were playing on the Horizon they were so far away from us The team started brilliantly to be fair & we’re tying Forest up in knots The sucker punch goal (great finish) was a shite & it has nothing to do with Alisson, it was crisp low well placed shot from a guy in form What happened then was kind of bizarre because I expected the time wasting, diving, whining, rolling around, cheating and we got all of it and more Forest have perfected a tactic, the player goes down, Ref comes over, player moans, aches but gets up just in time before a physio comes on .. End result player doesn’t have to leave field for 30 seconds and has wasted nearly 2 mins Some inept and again traditionally shockingly poor PGMOL officials didn’t help the cause, at no point were they in control of the game As for Forest, they’re just a fucking horrible side, I get the tactics and they are awful to watch, fuck having to watch and worse cheer that week in, week out I guess they don’t feel like a Big legacy club anymore and revel in the small club underdog mentality I’ve seen many a low block in my time but I’ve rarely seen a team lime them st who just don’t want and have zero interest in the ball ! For the Reds, first half, after the first 10 exhilarating minutes with such wayward finishing I thought we must be using those “special” Arsenal footballs, they were taken aback by the goal and it showed Robbo was appalling, a calamity waiting to happen and Johnny on the spot for so many bad moments Ibou was off it also, seemed to be lacking conviction but improved in the second half Big Virg was imperious, Trent suffered some concentration lapses and many a temper tantrum but to be fair gritted his teeth and dug in well The midfield was a mixed bag also, Macca was involved but quietly ineffective, Szobo was everywhere but nowhere and took till 60 mins to impact the game Ryan GravenBerch was sublime, positionally exquisite and his second half performance was superb Mo was nowhere near his best but was always interested and trying, the same can be said for Gakpo Luis Diaz is not a centre forward option in any team that doesn’t hold the half way line and even then it’s questionable, He like Robbo was atrocious I did get to witness right in front of me the greatest substitutions ever as within 23 seconds of both coming on Tsimikas assisted and Jota scored The Greek scouser had a “mixed” appearance but Jota was excellent, aggressive, sniping, a proper centre forward, Curtis Jones did OK when coming on but if the criticism of Harvey Elliott is a lack of pace (I don’t see that as Macca’s no sprinter either) and we were playing a team lined up to be unlocked, I thought this was a match screaming for his involvement. He. Has shown many times he has that key that was needed In truth Forest were absolutely and relentlessly battered in the 2nd half & hung on for a point and looking at the other results on the night and the mixed bag we offered up it was a decent nights work We go again
