Utterly despicable, disrespectful comments by the president of our closest ally. An unforgivable insult to the 457 British service personnel who paid the ultimate sacrifice in Afghanistan. How many more of these imbecilic rants will the world have to endure before the US acts.

I'm struggling to think of a worse, more unnecessary hill for any government to choose to die on. One million people have already signed a petition against ID cards. If we’re serious about rebuilding trust, this is the last place to start.
