@TheCinesthetic I think more actors need to follow Nick Cage's lead. If you don't have a common name like Harris, either change your last name or use your non-famous parents name. By the time that people figure out you have a famous parent, your already known as a good actor.

The famous fountain scene in Ocean's Eleven (2001) was barely staged. Steven Soderbergh wanted Brad Pitt to leave first and Carl Reiner last, then told the rest of the cast to line up and walk away whenever it felt natural.

@JoePompliano The same thing was done with Scott Dixon. 20 or so people got together and loaned him money to continue his racing career. Now, decades later, he's one of GOATs of Indycar and he still pays a percentage of his earnings and he's still grateful to them.

Fernando Tatis Jr. has lost his lawsuit against Big League Advance. Tatis was paid $2 million as a minor leaguer in exchange for 10% of his future earnings. This was not a loan. If Tatis didn't make it to the big leagues, he didn't have to repay the $2 million. But Tatis did make it to the big leagues and later signed a 14-year, $340 million contract. That meant Tatis owed Big League Advance $34 million. Tatis had publicly praised Big League Advance, saying the $2 million allowed him to hire a personal trainer, upgrade his apartment, and eat better food. But after realizing he owed $34 million in exchange for $2 million, Tatis sued the company, alleging that they used predatory tactics to lure him into an investment deal that was really an illegal loan. The judge disagreed. The agreement was upheld this week and Tatis was even ordered to pay Big League Advance’s legal fees. This is a big deal because Big League Advance has signed deals with 700+ athletes, including Elly De La Cruz (MLB) and Nolan Smith (NFL), across MLB, NFL, and college sports (think: NIL). And now that the courts have ordered Fernando Tatis Jr. to follow through on the agreement, other potential legal challenges will likely go the same way.

@F1BigData To relate to Europeans, it as if a driver with the combination of Lewis and Fernando's career, with Max's personality died suddenly and with no warning in middle of a back-to-back.

Potential hot take. NASCAR needs to allow Cup drivers to run as many Truck and O'Reilly races as they want again and out of respect for him see if anybody can ever chase down any of Kyle Busch's records

@ArchivesDe They mentioned the stylized and font of the No. 8. Busch had a lot of input in the design of it so it was entirely his. I feel like it would be ok to bring it back next year with a driver ready to carry on that numbers legacy, not a replacement.

Respect this decision tbh. However what if Dale Jr gets a Cup team and wants to race under his own stylized 8? I would imagine there would have to be some conversations involving all of the interested parties.

Aaron Rodgers was asked if he thinks it's part of his job to help develop young quarterbacks Will Howard & Drew Allar. Somewhat ironic, considering Brett Favre's remarks many years ago. Rodgers: "It's not in my job description, but it's a great opportunity, for sure. .... I'll mentor Drew as much as he wants me to and I'll continue to stay on Will."

I still maintain that last year’s Warfare (🌟🌟🌟) is a good, but not all-time great, war film. This movie’s strength is twofold: 1) it’s a technical achievement that makes great use of sound & is filled with strong visuals 2) the cast is dynamite, featuring so many young actors making a name for themselves. The reason I don’t think this movie elevates to an “all-time” great war film is because the story isn’t as developed as I would have preferred. I wanted to know more about the soldiers in battle here & more about the backstory/mission- even the aftermath. It’s just my personal preference/a creative decision I would’ve tried to weave into the story more. That said, I think we look back on this cast of young actors in 2, 5, 10 years & marvel at this ensemble: Cosmo Jarvis, Joseph Quinn, Will Poulter, Charles Melton, Michael Gnadolfini- just to name a few- all thrive. This film gives me hope for the future of young actors in Hollywood. Warfare isn’t Saving Private Ryan or Apocalypse Now, but it’s worth seeing.
Cinema Tweets@CinemaTweets1

Warfare(🌟🌟🌟) is a 90 minute shot of adrenaline that absolutely entertains. But while this film entertained me, Warfare is definitely not an all-time war film because like a shot of adrenaline, once you come down from the high of this film and start to look around, you realize that there isn’t much messaging here. In other words, I’m still not totally sure why this film was made or what this film is trying to say about war. Nevertheless, by 2025 standards, Warfare is unquestionably a film that deserves your attention and deserves to be seen in theaters. Great war films don’t just bring you into combat through sound and picture- they provide commentary on the war that is actually being fought. Whether that commentary is for one side of the war, against one side of the war, or simply speaking on the horrors of of war itself, great war films say something about war. I know this sounds reductive, but classic war films come with what feels like effortless commentary on war: Platoon comments on war’s devastation. Apocalypse Now comments on war’s corruption of man’s mind & spirit. Saving Private Ryan comments on the burden of sacrifice men make during war. The problem with Warfare, however, is this film doesn’t really make a statement one way or another about war & doesn’t really comment on anything. I don’t know if I learned anything about the Iraq war by watching this film, nor do I feel like I better understood the motives of either side during in the war. Warfare doesn’t even comment on the actual conflict itself or why there’s a war going on in the first place. Instead, Warfare feels like 90 minutes of sheer horror on the battlefield. And don’t get me wrong, there’s still value in that. Value in the fact that this film jacked my heart rate up to the max the last 45 minutes & captivated me the entire way through. But the point here being that this movie left meat on the bone and could’ve been better. The best part of this film is the cast. This is ensemble consists of actors entirely from my generation & I couldn’t be more proud of these guys. Kit Connor, Will Poulter, Cosmo Jarvis, Michael Gandolfini, Charles Melton, D’Pharoh Woon-A-Tai, and most of all, Joseph Quinn, all absolutely shine. They’re vulnerable as hell & each one of these young actors approached this film with the utmost sincerity. It excites me thinking about where these actors will go in the next 20 years. I really think Warfare could be a film we all look back on fondly because a generation of young actors collaborated together and crossed paths at the start of their careers. Like I said, I’m really proud of these guys for taking on this project with full commitment. Ultimately, Warfare doesn’t meet its full potential because it doesn’t say enough about the Iraq war. But this is still a good film that’s definitely worth seeing.
