I can't imagine how much courage it took Dolores Huerta, Ana Murgia, Debra Rojas, and others to speak out about the abuse they suffered at the hands of Cesar Chavez. They have carried this trauma and pain for decades, some since they were children. It's awful, and I stand with them and all victims of his abuse.
In the last 24 hours, so many members of our community in Arizona and across the country have been absolutely devastated by this news.
The fight for farmworkers rights has achieved so much and was built on the backs of thousands of men and women, not one person. Their work continues and improves the lives of Americans every day.

“No quarter” isn’t some wanna be tough guy line - it means something. An order to give no quarter would mean to take no prisoners and kill them instead. That would violate the law of armed conflict. It would be an illegal order. It would also put American service members at greater risk. Pete Hegseth should know better than to throw around terms like this.

Trump ripped up the Iran nuclear deal and created this mess. Now, he's putting servicemembers in harm's way with no clear plan and no Congressional approval. The American people deserve answers — and Congress needs to do its job.

I’m told that Kelly’s staff is telling other Senate offices that he misunderstood the question as about the war, not the war powers resolution, and has consistently planned to vote to support it.
That suggests, however, that he was or is undecided on the virtue of the war itself

We need the best AI systems to stay ahead of our adversaries and keep Americans safe. That also means strong safeguards.
If Hegseth kicks out the most capable provider because they want responsible guardrails, that makes us less safe and raises serious questions about how this administration plans to use AI.
Congress must act and set clear rules for AI use to protect Americans and make sure we continue to have the most advanced fighting force in the world.
