“I believe Mississippi has more potential to flourish than any other state in the country. We’re the most generous people in the country. We stand for the National Anthem, we bend our knee in prayer, and we are never going to let anybody tell our kids that that’s a bad thing.” - State Auditor @ShadWhite

Over $10.5 Million in Taxpayer Funds Spent on Healthcare for Illegal Immigrants in Mississippi Over Three Years
JACKSON, Miss. – Mississippi taxpayers spent over $10.5 million on Medicaid for illegal aliens from federal fiscal year 2023 to 2025 according to a new report from State Auditor @ShadWhite.
“If this money had gone to benefit lawful citizens, it could have reduced our taxes, paid our teachers, paid our police officers—frankly anything would be better than serving as a magnet for illegal immigrants to come to the United States,” said White.
Federal law requires hospitals to provide emergency services regardless of immigration status, but it also requires states to report how much taxpayer money is spent providing these medical services to illegal immigrants. However, the Mississippi Department of Medicaid did not report spending on illegal immigrants to the federal government until after the State Auditor’s Office released a 2024 report on the taxpayer cost of illegal immigration.
“The only answer here is to have a federal government continue to do exactly what the Trump Administration is doing, which is close our borders and enforce our immigration laws,” said White. “In addition, I pushed hard for a new law to make illegal immigration a state crime, and that bill passed this year, which will also help.”
After identifying Medicaid’s shortcoming in the 2024 report, State Auditor Shad White commissioned a follow-up analysis to determine why Mississippi’s Medicaid program had never reported spending on illegal immigrants. As a result of this work, the Mississippi Division of Medicaid (DOM) identified over $10.5 million spent on providing Medicaid for illegal immigrants over three fiscal years.
“Mississippi taxpayers deserve to know the cost of illegal immigrants in our state,” said White, “even if it makes some folks uncomfortable. My team will always tell you how your money in being spent, warts and all.”
The full report can be found under the “Reports” tab on the Auditor’s website and searching “illegal immigrants.”

The political violence problem in this country exists entirely on the left side of the aisle.

I don’t typically make news on a Friday afternoon, but today I am going to make an exception:
I’m calling a special session.
During the recently completed regular session, the Legislature discussed drawing new maps to comply with a decision from a federal judge from the Northern District of Mississippi - a decision that has been appealed to the 5th Circuit and the appeal has been heretofore stayed pending future U.S. Supreme Court decisions.
The entire world knows the Callais decision has not yet been handed down by the U.S. Supreme Court. It is a decision that could (and in my view should) forever change the way we draw electoral maps.
It is my belief and federal law requires that the Mississippi Legislature be given the first opportunity to draw these maps. And the fact is, they haven’t had a fair opportunity to do that because of the pending Callais decision.
For those reasons, I am using my constitutional authority to allow the Mississippi Legislature to use their constitutionally recognized right to draw these maps once the new rules of the game are known following Callais.
It is my sincere hope that, in deciding Callais, the U.S. Supreme Court will reaffirm the animating principle that all Americans are created equal and that when the government classifies its citizens on the basis of race, even as a perceived remedy to right a wrong, it engages in the offensive and demeaning assumption that Americans of a particular race, because of their race, think alike and share the same interests and preferences – a concept that is odious to a free people whose institutions are founded upon the doctrine of equality.
The special session will take place on the calendar day that falls 21 days after the U.S. Supreme Court issues the Callais decision.

In 2025, the Southern Poverty Law Center cut a $330,000 check to @ParentsCampaign.
The group claims school choice legislation “isn’t written for parents.”
That is a LIE. School choice is about empowering parents with the funding they need to select the schools that their children deserve.
While the SPLC works to defend the failing status quo, I’m fighting to ensure EVERY education dollar is parent-directed!

No one in Mississippi politics can handle our illegal immigration problem better than Shad White.

Illegal immigration costs Mississippi taxpayers more than $100 million every year. That's precisely why State Auditor Shad White made making illegal immigration a state crime a key part of his 2026 legislative agenda.
The Legislature killed that bill for years but after Auditor White toured the state and began talking about the issue, the Legislature finally managed to get it done. This is how we save taxpayers money.

As a former ED of the state party, you should know better than anyone that “reach out to us if you want to help” is not a good way to engage volunteers.
I spent months on the Governor’s last campaign on the phone recruiting volunteers to help. If our approach was the same as your suggestion here of “just let us know if you want to help” then we wouldn’t have been able to accomplish as much as we did. You have to be proactive and actually put in the work to get people engaged enough to help. Praying for volunteers to show up on your doorstep isn’t a plan.
I’d be more than happy to talk to anyone at the party on how we did on the Governor’s campaign. Always happy to help!

@JacobWalters39 @MSGOP If you had reached out you would have learned how you could have helped. Try that next time.

What did the @MSGOP do to try stopping this ridiculous gerrymander?
I know a lot of people who would have loved to volunteer for something like this if the party actually gave them the opportunity. Too bad.

Indiana Republicans refused to redraw their congressional maps because of “norms” and in response, Virginia democrats passed the most egregious gerrymander I’ve ever seen which will give Democrats more House seats.
And yet here in Mississippi, @ShadWhite is still the ONLY statewide elected official that has called for us to redraw our congressional map to draw Bennie Thompson out of a district.
I’m not sure why the other statewide Republicans want to keep Bennie in power or why they’re so scared of him but enough is enough. Republicans can’t just let Democrats steal congressional seats across the country while we sit back and do nothing.
