We’re using @elysiaJS and of course Zod. It Dockerized incredibly easily today — wrote the Dockerfile in one shot and had no deployment issues. DX is incredible and bun:test is super easy to adopt given we use Vitest in our main app’s frontend suite. Hats off @jarredsumner ❤️

.@bunjavascript has been one of my favorite new tech of the past few years. I’ve used it as a package manager for side projects and to write one-off scripts for work, but never the full runtime in production. Until today: we shipped our first Bun-based service at @beehiiv today!

@cthorrez They’re not too far apart honestly! A lot of what I learned reporting on gaming and esports finances is super applicable on AI stuff too. Just now have a vested interest given my change in career 😅 Also completely agree with you too. The moat are the models.

@JacobWolf It's pretty cool that the guy I used to follow for esports scoops now posts AI ecosystem and market takes. I agree by the way, I think model creators will eat away at everything that builds on them that becomes successful

I don’t think tools like Replit, Lovable, etc. are long for this world. Not just because of what Amjad said recently — but more so because their moat is practically nonexistent. Right now the one problem they solve is that they make deployments easier than the model makers.

If I’m them, the Anthropic acquisition of Bun and Google colocating their Firebase team and their AI teams scare the piss out of me. The minute that Google and Anthropic make shipping the code Gemini and Claude produce easier, it’s over.

@jessethanley @PlanetScale @Bento Done any digging on ClickHouse’s new managed Postgres offering? In the event you already do or will need to use ClickHouse for events in the future, they make integrating with the Clickpipes/PeerDB sync engine really easy if you also use their Postgres hosting.

I am now on the highest tier of Heroku Postgres plans. I am spending a mortgage on data. I am investigating migrations properly this month to get better value and support for my dollar. Already got Tatami on @Planetscale, evaluating pricing and features for @Bento. Battle is against: @Planetscale @crunchydata @Heroku Performance/Aurora AWS Aurora Not evaluating (cause meh): Supabase Neon (lol, lmao even) Any PaaS alternative Any self-hosted route Will post updates and methods used. Bucardo is interesting.
