Please read this whole thread. Apparently @GovStitt has yet again appointed one of his friends and campaign donors to a prime government office. Is everyone finally able to see that our governor believes that government is a business meant to be run by the rich and powerful while we grunts are just meant to pay for it all while they enrich themselves on our tax dollars?

It’s about DATA CENTERS!! Trump's team has already coordinated with Stitt on the appointment (including the Mar-a-Lago meeting), and while past donations (e.g., to Kinzinger) have drawn MAGA criticism, Armstrong's track record on delivering reliable, scalable energy for AI could outweigh that in a short-term Senate role. His insights on permitting reform, pipeline expansions, and behind-the-meter power would inform policy that accelerates U.S. AI scaling—directly advancing Trump's goal of staying ahead of China. Armstrong is executive chairman of Williams Companies (the Tulsa-based natural gas infrastructure company. Williams has committed billions to behind-the-meter facilities, viewing AI/data center demand as a massive growth driver for natural gas. There are already on-site (or more precisely, behind-the-meter/on-site) natural gas-fired power plants being built or planned by Williams Companies specifically to supply power directly to data centers. These are part of their "Power Innovation" strategy, led by Alan Armstrong, to address the massive electricity demand from AI and data centers without relying on overloaded public grids.

No, Tired, I don't bitch about that. In fact, I bitch about the opposite - CEOs of companies and titans in business who can donate thousands to campaigns when there are a ton of us smart, but not politically connected people who never get chosen for anything. Could it be because we call out FOOLISH AND SELFSERVING political appointments like this one? More than likely and yet, we understand and eschew the practice of conflict of interest and that government isn't to be run for and by the friends of the elected. This appointment shows exactly why people know government is broken.
