Who wouldn't want quail/Torrey/Pebble? Not sure where that came from

This is not a defense of Craig Ranch but I will say that I think the general golf fan grossly over-estimates the amount of courses that can achieve what you want to happen weekly on the pga tour. For starters so few courses on earth that can, and sooooo many of the ones that can, either the membership do not want the pga tour at all or arnt big enough to stage an event - no space for galleries or much hospitality, that meet pga requirements from locker rooms to driving ranges to quality of bunkers.

@StixPicks @gfienberg17 Hack out of rough fests every week would get very boring. Quail Hollow and Torrey Pines are staples on the tour. We shouldn’t just not play tournaments at those course. Variety is good. No one thinks pebble is a bad course simply because there’s no drivers hit

@StixPicks @gfienberg17 I get that. There’s a lot of courses on tour where an emphasis on some type of driving strategy is really key. This isn’t one of them. Can view that however you want but it’s not rly the end of the world in my opinion. It’s just a very boring course

@JakeSirkus @gfienberg17 Just don't think any course on tour should be able to have 15 of the top ~30 on leaderboard outside of the top 60 in accuracy off the tee. Not a rollback or club shrink fan (I think Ams always want to play what pros are using and that's good for OEMs / the industry as a whole)...

Contextually this is accurate and I agree with this and some of the Craig ranch stuff is pretty over blown considering this is a very low level event that rarely attracts the best players… To me there’s not much of a difference caring that the winner at Craig ranch is -26 vs the winner at RBC Canadian being -22

Leave it to the Yanks to trot out the best rotation they’ve had in my lifetime followed by the worst bullpen they’ve had in my lifetime Complete disaster
