2 more names.. Both have elite accuracy and putting numbers and have good history on long golf courses.. Alex Noren and Harris English..

Ben Griffin, I believe, is the most underpriced player in the field.. He has won at a tight, less-than-driver course at Colonial last year, and a T2 at Memorial which is a driver-heavy course with a high missed fairway penalty.. Not that those courses are by any means a comp for this week, he has played well at all types of courses.. He's made the cut in all 3 majors this year and has finished in the top 20 in 4 of his last 6 majors.. He is a legit top 20 player and priced well north of 100/1.. His elite putting is not as helpful this week as it might be other weeks, but he's comfortable clubbing down and plotting his way around a tough T2G test, he also has one of the best short games on tour and is an elite iron player..

I've been listening to players talk about the course all week. They have been nonstop talking about the firmness of the fairways, the constant runout of teeballs rolling onto the fairway.. 5 Irons rolling out to 300 yards.. Some players will elect to take driver on a lot of holes.. If they get into a crosswind, a big miss will most likely be penal if it is far enough off-line.. Even if players club down and hit irons, there are still landmine bunkers throughout the fairways (although not as much as an average Open venue) that balls can roll into if players are not careful.. Small misses will not be penalized this week, the rough seems to be dried out and should be no problem.. Big misses could be an issue.. Although distance is not overly important, the ELITE total drivers should still be able to separate a bit if they are on..

Lot of talk about how high varianced and unpredictable Open championship leaderboards are. Which is true, but not for the winner 7 of the last 9 Open champions have been top 10 players (via Datagolf rankings). That’s the best rate of all 4 of the majors

Gunna have some thoughts in written form out here in the next 24 hours But do think it’s gunna shape up to be the highest variance/most shit show leaderboard of the season *firm fairways *true missed fairway penalty *easy greens *No real reward for distance Anyone can play well. And all types of players will play well. Expect a weird leaderboard, as most Opens do produce

Cincinnati Under 5.5 wins -145

Arizona State Under 6.5 +105 One of the teams im considerably lower on than the market. I project them at 6.15 wins and don’t see a ton of upgrades really anywhere All the production that they missed last year with star players hurt is just being replaced by lesser talented transfers and a huge depletion to their secondary (strongest part of team in 2025) Very interested to see how they stack up against a powerful A&M team in week two (who also have huge questions on OL and DL)
