Maybe it’s not talked about enough, but I have a tremendous amount of pride that my club doesn’t have a long laundry list of managers. Other than some rare cases, we value consistency, culture-setting & sticking by the man in charge. I do not envy a revolving door of management.

Tell me guys, am I the arsehole? I wasn’t active the past 2 days because of some real life events that went on. So, in essence, I did not like the way that my football coach was coaching my nephew. Or the team. Of course, I always give him some training drills in his free time alongside his team’s training. But the detriment of his original coach and training was him winning, his progression. So I organised a group chat with some of the parents from his team, and explained to them I wanted to give them a proper coaching lesson, for completely free, outside of regular training. The parents were buzzing for it. I told them the only condition was they kept it a secret from the coach of the team. And that I could also control their nutrition by providing them diet plans. I cook myself, so I offered to bring them healthy, precooked, nutritious meals to each training session — for them to take home. This has been happening for a few weeks, with my training lessons. And to nobody’s surprise, the team become much more watchable, and individuals definitely improved. Because players were not robotically programmed on basic amateurish drills, rather individual strengths. However, the coach was not happy. He didn’t like what he was seeing on the pitch, despite the improved results. He felt the players were not listening to him, and doing their own thing — which wasn’t the case, they just played without boring, basic robotic that prevented them getting to the next level. And of course, one kid snitched. Fine. But then the head coach decided to confront me about it, and I was very blunt. I said his coaching was not good, kids should be able to express and enjoy themselves, and that none of these players were going to get to the next level if things didn’t change. I was hoping he would understand. He did not. He kicked my nephew out of the team, and told me to “fuck off, and never come back. This is MY team, not yours”. I laughed. Because I knew this terrible excuse of a coach will not succeed. Especially using vulgar language around children. My nephew, however, did not want to speak to me on the drive home. I tried to make his day, even offering him a cheat meal at Pepe’s, his favourite. He didn’t answer. He began to cry. I kept telling him that it wasn’t my fault, and I was looking the best not just for him, but for the team. But I also reinforced I will fix it for him, he did not want to hear it. I dropped him home, and then I got yelled at by my sister for letting this happen. You know, at that point, I thought I had lost 2 of the people closest to me. I sat in the car for 2 hours, crying. I didn’t know if the outrage was deserved, but I know I had to make it right. That is when I had an idea. I knew where this coach lives, having visited him with my nephew before for a meeting late last year. So, of course, I immediately drove to his house. I knocked, and was greeted by his wife, who said he’s out at the gym. So I waited outside, and I saw him come out of his car. I immediately open my door, and to say he was flabbergasted and disgusted would be an understatement. He threatened to call the police. But I explained the situation to him, stressing to him my actions shouldn’t be taken out on my nephew, and he was largely unempathetic, saying he doesn’t take disrespect. So, I leave his house, and I had the idea to bribe him. I didn’t want to see his face again, so I put in £500 worth of cash in an envelope, and wrote a very, very sincere letter begging to have him reinstated. I went home, and since, I have not touched much technology. Perhaps 1 hour maximum. I have been crying, alone, by myself. I thought I had destroyed a valuable relationship. And an hour later, my sister screenshots a text from the coach saying “training next Saturday, usual time”. The bribe worked. But really, I am not happy. At all. I am happy that my nephew can be part of the team, but I am not happy that I had to bribe to…

Passionately against this! You can’t have the best of both worlds, if you want the revenue from the English system that’s fine, but you can’t then also take a European qualifying spot from a real Welsh domestic side! Would sum up the FAWs attitude towards domestic football!

I have never felt unsafe around anyone muslim in my life yet you can’t walk round a corner round here without having to walk past a bunch of scallies dressed in all black with knives on them. I’d say that’s the real issue.
