@AlwaysCallHeads @ESPN_BillC @statsowar I think they'll settle into 6-7 games a year, which is a massive improvement from 2-4 we had eery year. It's so hard to compete in football consistently

@James99357 @ESPN_BillC @statsowar Diego did give them hope and a lot more commitment so he was a game changer for the program. But not that much. We will see how long it lasts. Probably about as long as Deion did with Colorado.

Why is matchmaking expensive? To illustrate, here’s how I’ll lose money on a client’s $49,000 package. Client is 46, 6’2, exited tech founder. He’s looking for a woman 27-33, very specific criteria around match personality, appearance, and profession. Without diving into specifics, she: • Isn’t easily searchable online... • Isn’t likely to reply when we find her… • Isn’t likely to be single… • Often has a deal-breaker trait we can’t screen for without a phone call… • Isn’t necessarily interested in my client… I was expecting this to be a difficult search, so I quoted $49,000. I wasn’t expecting ~100 hours of labor to find each match, not including communication with the client! To date I’ve spent $45,000 on salaries for the women staffed on his search, plus $2,750 on styling and photos, and we still owe the client 2 matches... Before considering overhead (let alone opportunity cost) this will be a huge L financially. Things balance out though. Most engagements are profitable. Some engagements are quite profitable. For example, a new client in NYC paid $30,000 and paused after his first match, because he’s 99% sure we found his wife. That's still a new relationship, and engagements last 9 months (6 months of active matching + up to 3 months of pause), so we could be on the hook for more work in coming months. But you get the point 🙏

The issue with the NFL doing more of these standalone games is not that they’re played at odd times or that they’re in foreign countries. The issue is that our Sunday slate is slowly being watered down to the point where eventually it will feel like a non-event. Redzone’s “octo-box” will almost surely be a thing of the past, as sooner rather than later we’ll have NFL “primetime” games on nearly every night of the week, including occasional double headers, stealing action away from Sunday. Couple this with the impending schedule expansion to add an 18th game and likewise, a 2nd bye week, and we’ll conceivably arrive at a point where a Sunday slate could only have 4-5 games on any given week. I think it’s sad that greed could soon destroy our league from within. We have environmental and animal protection agencies - why do we not have anything like this for our leagues? I’d be glad to oversee the NFL protection and preservation agency on behalf of the fans.

The 49ers and Rams will play Thursday, Sept. 10 at 5:35 p.m. PT at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Australia. Due to the 17-hour time difference, the 49ers and Rams will take the field Friday at 10:35 a.m. (AEST) in Melbourne, with the game airing Thursday evening in the United States.

Daughter did nothing wrong, bullying and shit talking is a part of life. The little coward illegal Hispanic Shoudlve just talked shit back instead of crying to the teacher. It’s not illegal to talk shit that’s why we have freedom of speech. I would’ve been proud of my daughter and helped funnel her energy into becoming a comedian or social media troll.

@BossNass15 @RyanMoriart1 @ochodrinko85 Fantasy football > real football Has nothing to do with the playoffs. Fantasy nerds want the games on at the same time. More fun. Island games 3 hours long and 12 minutes of actual game is boring.

Here is a look at the adjusted offensive and defensive rating for all remaining Sweet 16 teams. If history tells us anything, the National Champion will come from the upper right quadrant.

@deckedoutmag @ScoopB Me and my friend played it last month. 2k6 is so much better. Yao Ming had 82 points and the mechanics are horrible. Maybe it was better in 2006. 2k6 is future proof though

NBA Live 06 wasn’t just a game; it was a cultural delivery system. While the hardcore basketball gaming crowd started moving toward 2K’s simulation, Live 06 stayed true to the arcade-adjacent hardware that made the series a titan 🏀

All in all.. that was a helluva season. Boys battled their ass off tonight in the most one sided environment March Madness has ever seen. Weathered the storm and almost pulled through… we’re not going anywhere anytime soon

Not only are there just four double-digit seeds left, not only did all favorites win yesterday, the games haven’t been particularly close. Per ESPN Research, the average margin of victory in the first round was 17.4 points, the highest since the tournament expanded in 1985.

I had an OC tell me this today about evaluating QBs in the draft “When I’m trying to find THE guy… I ask two questions — was he born to be a QB, or was he made to be one?” Nothing has resonated more…Everyone’s chasing the guy who was born to do it. There’s 2 in this class…

@adamg1224 Then when this happens and the first round and second round games are worse people will be like “wow what happened to the tourney”. Like if VCU lost the A10 final and missed people would say they should be in but getting snuffed by half strength UNC

I’m not the first to say it, but it rings true. No one gives a shit about mediocre P5 teams. The soul of college basketball is the little guy getting shot at the true powers. Fewer (ideally zero) teams that go under .500 in their leagues. That’s what literally everyone wants
