Just snagged a copy of this and read it fast. Very impressive theological reading of Leviticus. Recent Hebrews work looms large, but McDaniel obviously loves Leviticus' own form, structure, plot (yes!), & details. And the steady rise of sonship as a key category is a revelation.

How come folks can say "diaconate" yet can't seem to say "presbyterate"? If one persists in saying "priesthood" when referring to the office of a priest, one should probably switch to "deaconhood" when referring to the office of a deacon
