Sure this video is being posted by a Democrat - and it’s from a political event that draws lots of outsiders - but, nonetheless, it says something that #Va’s Republican governor, who’s kvelling over his 59% approval rating, gets booed in one the reddest corners of the state.

The segment of the country this appeals to is only shrinking, whether the GOP realizes it or not. And if the GOP keeps offering this up despite getting beat time and again, it’s going to be replaced pretty quickly by folks offering something better.

Vance shows the key problem picking the NatCon types as the face of anything: their sociability is cramped. When exposed to broader America, they inevitably pop off weird racism jokes & post an occassional Sonnenrad. Outside of their insular circles, they just land off beat.
