@lauriefletcher @DaveThroup I’ve got an EV, range anxiety went away within a couple of weeks after learning about the car. Why are you paying 87p for your rapid charge? Shop around!!

@DaveThroup I have an ev and find it very frustrating. Range is an issue, range anxiety is real. The other thing you’ve failed to mention is that the cost of energy on the public charging network is ridiculous. 87p/kWh is exorbitant! Far far more expensive than fossil fuels.

And this is why EVs will become the norm very quickly. Not because of Net Zero or people’s desire to save the world. But because they’re less than half the cost to run. Second hand costs now comparable to petrol. New will soon follow as battery costs fall.

A sad announcement for Dorset Birders in that TASIE RUSSELL passed away on Monday 21st October. Well known in the Dorset Bird Club for her surveys with Hobbies and Hen Harries. Also had a spell as assistant warden at Portland Observatory. R. I. P. TASIE.
