@IterIntellectus Also even if it’s legal a prospective employer in the future could see this, especially considering how they’d likely be able to use AI and look up their face and scan social media in the future

@Skyyy_Gi @sakuderia I’ll tentatively accept that as being true, but if you’re born a man and everyone accepts you as a woman then you’re not any further out of the woods, women are far more likely to be SA’d. Also from reading trans posts, affirmation isn’t only sought to avoid being killed/raped

@JamieCalpat @sakuderia Trans people get killed and rape massively because of transphobes. Im not looking for affirmation, I dont need affirmation. I just dont want to be killed because of who I am. And no one would kill you because you're left handed. Transphobia is more than post on Twitter.

@Skyyy_Gi @sakuderia Genuine question. Why do you seek so much affirmation for something you know you are? I’m 6ft+ and left handed and the whole world could call me ‘shortie right hander’ and it would have 0 affect on me as the weight of truth would make me invulnerable to anyone else’s opinion.

i like a few of christopher nolan’s movies, but he’s just like a fundamentally disinteresting director to me. all of his films feel so sterile, like there’s a style to them, but that style is so .. bland?? i think bland is the right word.

Tom Holland’s “alcoholism”
𝓢𝓵𝓪𝓶 👁️⃤@slamwontmiss

Tom Holland claims he thought he could quit drinking anytime until he actually tried. “I didn’t wake up one day and say, ‘I’m giving up drinking.’ Like many Brits, I had a very boozy December around Christmas time. I was on vacation, drinking a lot, and I’ve always been able to handle it. I think I get that from my mum’s side.” “I decided to try Dry January just to see if I could. All I could think about was having a drink, I’d wake up thinking about it, check the clock wondering if it was twelve, and it really scared me.I started to wonder if I had a little bit of an alcohol problem. So I told myself I’d do February as well, giving myself two months off to prove I didn’t have a problem.” “two months in, I was still struggling. I flt like I couldn’t be social, couldn’t go to the pub and have a lime soda, and couldn’t go out for dinner. I started worrying maybe I did have an alcohol issue.” “So I decided to wait until my birthday on June 1st. I told myself that if I could make it six months without alcohol, I’d prove I didn’t have a problem.” “By June 1st, I was the happiest I’d ever been. I slept better, handled problems better, and things that would normally upset me at work didn’t bother me anymore. I had much better mental clarity, and I felt healthier and fitter.”

Why do people with food disorders always love chicken nuggets and fries? I've never seen someone say "I can only eat green vegetables." It's always greasy or sugary foods that they eat. Are food disorders fake?

@larryjuggernaut @Tango_Returns COVID was rough for that But I will say that it’s my understanding that non-alcoholic beers are mainly recommended for non-alcoholics as AA/psychiatrists say you shouldn’t touch them at all. Your brain expects the dopamine and reinforces receptors that make a relapse more likely.

@JamieCalpat @Tango_Returns He’s talked about it before this as well. He said during Covid he was in a house with a bunch of his buddies and all of them would be drinking with each other constantly, so this is an issue that he had for at least a few years before this podcast appearance. Seems genuine tbh.

@James16608925 @Tango_Returns I’m open to believe it is genuine. But many people lose a lot of weight and swear by a product/method and promote it so this comes off as the same to me. Regardless, if what he says inspires at least one person to recognise they have a problem then overall I‘m happy he’s sharing.

@JamieCalpat @Tango_Returns There are also example of him talking about quitting drinking before he had bero. His inspiration to make it was that he didn’t like the lack of options for none alcohlic beers

@king_of_bob @livaldovinos If only we could be as morally pure and separate fiction from reality as well as Muslims and Africans do, lmao. Why did I bother replying to you. It’s okay to kill civilians in GTA and enjoy it without deserving a prize. I bet your podcast fucking sucks you insufferable loser.

@king_of_bob @livaldovinos Not just the west. I’m sure there are many Japanese people who thought Light was the hero in Deathnote. I wanted Walt to build his empire and I still support Dexter. But I’m aware it’s fiction and wouldn’t support either in real life. It’s just that anti-heroes are fun to watch.

@JamieCalpat @livaldovinos The issue with Breaking Bad is fans thinking Walter is the hero. Same with Dexter. Western audiences have a hard time wrapping their heads around the concept of a villainous main character. They think "protagonist" and "hero" are the same thing.

there's a subsection of adults stuck in a state of perpetual arrested development. not because they don't have children (understanding not everyone can) but because they've never given themselves over to something bigger than their own comfort. raising children forces that shift. it demands you live for someone else's future instead of your own present.. it found other places too.. real community work: volunteering, caregiving, mentoring someone who isn't yours, building something that outlasts your own interest in it. those things ask the same thing of you that parenthood does. the common thread isn't parenthood.. it's sacrifice. what keeps people childish isn't the absence of kids, it's the absence of anything asked of them that they didn't choose for their own amusement.

If you watch Pirates of the Caribbean 2, you’ll realize how far we’ve fallen culturally. I thought that movie sucked when it came out over 20 years ago, but watching it with 2026 eyes, it’s a really well-made epic with a mediocre story. The fact that something I considered disappointing back then looks this good compared to what’s coming out now says a lot.

@arvofart I'm amenable to the whole "art and artistry" angle -- being HM2's strongest defender myself -- but I think it's very funny that not even RDR2 defenders will try to claim it's fun
