I am excited to share our latest research on the arachnoid barrier, a crucial yet poorly understood structure that partitions the CNS and the dura, out today @Nature. We discovered that gaps in this barrier allow communication between the CNS and the dura. nature.com/articles/s4158…

We are investing $13M toward a new research collaboration with scientists @DukeMedSchool, @ColumbiaMed & @Stanford to expand the collective understanding of G protein-coupled receptors (GPCR), which are vital proteins that impact human health and disease. bit.ly/3Sniwnr

Some of the work from my PhD is now available! We searched for arrestin2/3 binding motifs in the CB1 c-terminus and found: 1. The pxxp motif isn’t critical for CB1. 2. Both arrestin subtypes require the same sites. 3. There are two functionally distinct phosphorylation clusters.
British Journal of Pharmacology (BJP)@BrJPharmacol

Very nice exploration of the #CB1 phosphorylation sites for #arrestin interaction Authors investigated how different serine/threonine residues within the #CB1 C-terminus affect arrestin2/3 translocation in response to MDMB-FUBINACA Find out more here: doi.org/10.1111/bph.15…

Our paper “GPCR-mediated β-arrestin activation deconvoluted with single-molecule precision” is out today! We use single-molecule FRET imaging and other biophysical approaches to explore the structural dynamics of β-arrestin1 activation upon binding GPCRs. (1/6)

Putative SCs MEPIRAPIM, 5F-BEPIRAPIM (NNL-2), and Their Analogues Are T-Type Calcium Channel (CaV3) Inhibitors pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ac… Cool work reporting more (non)-SCRA as modulators of T-type Ca channels ... plenty of potential in a number of different disease states 1/4

1st annual #ECIGPCR conference so far so good - interesting work being presented. Thanks @NicoleAPerry1 and committee for organising, definitely worth getting up at 1am for! If anyone wants to know about CB1 motifs for Arrestin binding come see poster 85.
