Witnesses say agents blew through a red light and nearly hit a woman stopped at the intersection before slamming into a van that triggered a chain reaction crash. In typical fashion, ICE agents refused to allow the person they hit to receive immediate medical attention. A child was later rushed away in an ambulance. These were not cartel gunmen firing from SUVs, not armed terrorists that Trump likes to think he’s extricating from society. Nope, it was another dangerous high-speed, inner-city chase, this time on the heels of a SNOWSTORM, because of someone’s immigration status. A civil violation. A paperwork issue. Not a violent crime. When masked federal agents drive recklessly through snow-covered streets and cause multi-car crashes, THEY are the public safety threat. A child is injured. Families are traumatized. Innocent people are endangered so ICE can rack up arrests to meet their quotas. Of mainly non-violent individuals. How many more children have to end up in the hospital? How many more bystanders have to be hurt or killed before someone admits this is OUT OF CONTROL? Communities are being terrorized in the name of enforcement. Naturally, agents who caused this melée face no apparent consequences while the victims pick up the pieces of their lives. This is not “safety.” This is lawless recklessness. Cruelty. And until there is real accountability, it will keep happening. If this wholesale endangerment of children and families infuriates you, like and share to demand change.
