Turn a corner on a narrow path through woods near Ashford-in-the-Water, and you chance upon this abandoned water mill. It once roared and clattered, creating bobbins for the cotton mills along the River Wye, but now it just crumbles quietly to itself among the trees, the haunt of owls and spiders. #peakdistrict
