The Welsh language is hardly spoken due to it being suppressed for generations by another country. People really need to learn history.

Wear it round your neck for a day and imagine how it felt to live in Wales more than a hundred years ago, punished for speaking your mother tongue. This shame made a huge damage to our language and heritage. The English ARE to blame.

Yes, I did, because that is a red line for me. Didnt need her to learn Welsh, didnt need her to love it, but to talk about it in that way was unacceptable for me and made me realise our views were incompatible. Ive dated a native american woman, and I would never have spoken to her about her culture and language etc as if it didnt matter, and if I had Id have expected to be broken up with.

English Nationalists will find this insane of me to say, but Welsh Nationalists will understand. I would rather (and its not even close) be told "In the future, Wales will be mostly mixed race, mixed religion but more Welsh speaking than it is now" Than "Wales will be almost entirely white, entirely Christian/secular, but sadly the Welsh language will go extinct". The second one, is unthinkable to me. If someone gave me the option of DYING but my language grows, I would take it. And that is not an extreme position to most Welsh Nationalists.

You can like English people, I love some of them given my grandfathers family are all Brummies, Ive also fallen IN love with English women. But ultimately Ive also broken up with a partner because they called Welsh a 'dying language that only matters in Wales and that she wouldn't want her children to learn it...and that was a red line for me.

I’m v glad to hear the breaking news on the BBC News channel that the Prime Minister is not going anywhere and that if people want a different PM they should use the process of the Labour Party. He won the election, he has the mandate, he’s a good leader & he should stay PM.
