This is a super important paper with many nuances to unpack. While on one hand I think these data clearly show many benefits from ctDNA testing in lymphoma, the trickier thing to grapple with is the “context dependent” nature of MRDneg. How one gets to that status impacts the prognostic value of the status. Cross-trial or cross-mechanism of action comparisons will be challenging. Let’s say we want to compare SKYGLO vs ZUMA23 strategies in 1L. Is EOT MRDneg an adequate surrogate?
