Despite being just the 16th pick in your draft, you were easily the most successful of your peer "young core" members. You went from Enes Kanter to "Baby Jokic." You had the deck stacked against you from Day 1, got benched for Bruno Fernando, and still emerged as the leader of this team. You weren't "played off the floor by the Warriors." You made 2 All-Star teams and were in Top 15 conversations. If the front office decides it can't live with two non-shooters and you're the odd man out, I have no shame in that outcome, from where we came. Thanks for the memories. Not a team in the league should want to trade for Devin Booker. He’s gonna be 30, has somehow gotten worse (or the league left him behind), and he’s on the most expensive contract in the NBA.

The two guys you just mentioned are archetypes that no longer exist in the NBA. I am not disagreeing with the fact that it might be the most ideal role for booker, I’m saying it will be impossible to find someone like them now.

holding your star accountable for playing poorly in the most important moments isn’t “hating” or “being ungrateful” it’s treating them like the player they’ve set the standard for. if Book is who we all believe he is/was he wouldn’t wanna be coddled. he wants the expectations.
