So grateful for my time with .@DrivelineBB. I left with an incredible amount of knowledge, new arm slot, and a freak slider. With their pitch designing abilities & guidance from @drivelinebases @DanielMoskos @BaseballFreak_9 I was able to make this idea come to life #swordschool

@eballa1 @CarlosACollazo Wow in the past $1000 was the minimum. That’s tough
English

@DMEASrecruiting @ZacCole_ 100%. The best ones use feel and back it up with the “data” after. Not data hunt first.
English

@ZacCole_ Cause the ones that are running it, need numbers, they don’t have the feel it takes to scout without them
English

@devenmorgan Those are things that most people blow through but that is a very, very cool step in the journey

‘27 C Jaxon Olmstead (CA) comes thru w/ another hit here on a nice oppo piece. Easy & functional swing. #PGNational @California_PG

‘27 C Jaxon Olmsted (CA) pieces this ball for a knock to RF (90 EV). Creates length well & plenty of hd strength. #GoToreros commit #PGNational @California_PG

@BillSuspen77612 @iamandod @GOD_isblack @toddvs35 I was going to make a community note, but he actually had a career 3.06 ERA in the minors and a 9.67 K/9. 3x all star 🤷🏻♂️ maybe he’s like good or something
English

@iamandod @GOD_isblack @toddvs35 No, I played with 4 kids in club ball who played minor league baseball. Does not impress me that Todd did, since he sucked with a 4.55 era in the minors.
English

@RobertStock6 I doubt the umpire has ever seen that HAA. That’s tough

This combine is cracking me up. It’s as if no one has watched the NFL combine. Jerry Rice would’ve gotten his ass kicked in a combine, still one of the greatest of all time. You are getting paid for potential! Not to be a finished product. Do you ever broad jump in the NFL? No. Do you ever throw a recorded pitch without a hitter in the box? No way
English

@KitsLore That is actually an incredible piece of history. But the blue need to be retired after today 😂
English

@JaredDWilson Adidas chose blue specifically because it's their last ever kit for Germany as Nike takes over in 2027. They went back to 1954 to find the colour. They pulled it from the training sweaters Sepp Herberger wore when Germany won their first World Cup in 1954
English

@DanielGager I was thinking Jack Bauer 🤦🏻♂️
That Bauer is also incredibly good
English

@JaredDWilson Look people may have their own idea on Bauer. But he is still throwing 94.6 on FB and peaks at 98 so far this year. Kids throwing 100 not showing much control. I don't wish for the kid to get destroyed in the minors mentally. Use college to hone in your craft.
English

Way too many haters in the “it wasn’t a strike” camp. Do you think it’s easier to create 100mph fire breather or to get a kid to throw a ball through a box? I’ll gladly take the engine thank you. A lot of you forgot what Nolan Ryan looked like and that he walked over 200(!) in a season twice
Prospect Metrics@ProspectMetrics
Ethan Wachsman 18 yrs 6’5 210 Wake Forest commit. Lanky projectable body. Live arm. Hit 100mph twice including this final pitch that he obviously over threw. #MLBDraft combine
English

@trobertson1710 You made the league. There’s a whole bunch of flame throwers that are getting opportunities now that would’ve never survived in previous decades. As soon as “velocity” became the biggest indicator for success by the models it changed the game.
English

@JaredDWilson 🤣 don’t under perform if you throw 100. Don’t under perform if you throw 90. Get outs.
English

@JaredDWilson Respectfully you are correct, but when he threw his arm out and came back healthier he had better Technique and was throwing harder. I think the argument is this kid needs to mature more prior to going pro. This kid vs. Bauer. I would take Bauer everyday of the week.
English

@ScoutNScrape 100% correct. Definitely safer to achieve the velocity later in life than at 18. I don’t know this kid personally, but his stats are pretty insane in high school. He doesn’t exactly walk people
English

I get what you're saying but these kids are also still kids - they're extremely projectable and lean relative to where they will be in 5+ years with MLB development and weight training. Most throwing 88 now are going to get up into the mid 90's over the years. A lot of times that's safer than investing in someone with no feel for pitching.
Would you rather bet on a 6'3 180 lb 18 year old to get stronger with MLB training or bet on teaching a guy how to pitch, almost from scratch?
There's a balance to it, like there is to everything.
English

@AdamStensonACS @TrashmanCometh2 @JamesDynstyBase @NorCalU1 Until 88 and locate gets paid again in the major leaguers and in the draft, this is the game. Throw 100, then throw 60% off speed 😂
English

@TrashmanCometh2 @JamesDynstyBase @NorCalU1 @JaredDWilson You train tothrow 100 so you can learn to command 100…
English

@NorCalU1 Ya the catcher didn’t do him any favors but they could have used one of the many high 90’s strikes he threw absolutely
English

@JaredDWilson You’re missing the point. They are glorifying velocity here in the pitch wasn’t even close. Why don’t you put a pitch? That’s a strike for goodness sakes.
English

He has a lot higher chance of getting to the big leagues if he has financial backing and 100mph fastball. Both of those allow you to underperform and get to the show. You know that. And if he doesn’t put it together, he’ll make more than most big leaguers ever see. I don’t think that’s right, it’s just the nature of the beast.
English

@JaredDWilson Oh cuz that’s the goal. Make money. Not pitch in the big leagues! This is the problem with the game today. Thank you!
English

@BradMarrs298068 Bingo. The nature of this event is to show output potential
English

@JaredDWilson Velo is the first cut. Then we see who can pitch with it. He was undoubtedly a bit amped up here. I recall Jeremy Jeffress doing the same in the Aflac (PG) All American game in 2005. He had a long MLB career with 3.7 BB/9.
