Every time I fly I feel like the airline industry could use a major shakeup. Like, where is the Steve Jobs or Elon Musk of aviation? It’s probably the one industry where the average user experience has gotten significantly worse over the last few decades.

Engineers are targeting 8 pm ET on Thursday, March 19, for rollout of Artemis II.
NASA’s crawler-transporter 2 will carry the 11-million-pound stack at about 1 mph along the four-mile route from the Vehicle Assembly Building at @NASAKennedy to the launch pad.

NASA will roll Orion and the SLS rocket back out to the launch pad on March 19 following a brief return to the vehicle assembly building. With completion of repairs to the ICPS and other system checks and updates, Artemis II is currently working toward a launch no earlier than April 1.

Teams at @NASAKennedy powered up systems starting at 8:13 p.m. ET on Jan. 31., and prepped the Artemis II SLS rocket for fueling. Tomorrow, they will load it with more than 700,000 gallons of propellant.

While launch opportunities for our Artemis II mission around the Moon open Feb. 6, a decision will not be made on the first date to attempt launch until system checks are complete. As our teams evaluate the rocket, spacecraft, ground systems, and crew, we will gain the information necessary to formalize a date in the available windows February through April. Launch opportunities also depend on orbital mechanics; the Moon needs to be in just the right position for the planned trajectory of our mission.
