Boston already has this and it basically sucks. It sits cold and empty for a whole half of the year, and even in fair weather is among the worst-utilized land in downtown. A swathe of prime land not used for living, working, commerce, transportation or infrastructure.

This is exactly right. The Big Dig was a disaster for a lot of reasons, but one of the main ones is that they didn’t build anything on it. Developing that land for commercial purposes would have paid off the cost of the project in tax revenues and increased economic activity fairly quickly, if not already.

@JaredsJacket @anymanfitness “you need to focus on 1 sport” is such a joke. There is a sophomore HS kid where I’m at that will get drafted or go to a big name college for baseball when he graduates. He was also the starting quarterback for his HS this last season. A real athlete can play multiple sports.

This article says “70% of 13 year olds have stopped playing a sport they used to enjoy” It’s been touted as a reason to avoid travel sports. I have another theory. 13 is 8th grade. Maybe they try out for their school team and don’t make it. So they quit. Bad news, dude: If your kid doesn’t play travel/AAU they have no chance of playing varsity in high school. Only exceptions would be small, rural schools without many players to choose from. Any decent sized high school, every kid on varsity plays travel.
