@jock_mcneil We run two second hand trailed rigs. Works well as spread out over 100km, can be spraying on two farms at the same time. Only a 12m airseeder so the big fwa tractor does sowing then pull the duals off to spray the rest of the year. Doubt numbers would add up if had 2 new rigs

Roadside weed management. Highly recommend one of these flail mowers. Used to use a 3PL slasher. Will mow down and finely chop stuff (marshmallows, wild oats etc) 5ft high without an issue. Mow it later in the season and end up with a thick mat which suppresses weeds

Saturday delivery😍 our local family owned Agco dealer is setting the bar to next level for service. 3 weeks ago our September tractor delivery had turned into May, but they’ve pull a lot of strings and here we are. Not what we originally order but I think it’s a better result

@S_M_Bowman @HamishinWA @Paul_Brown1 @ColinJBettles Long term pasture phase is a tease too. More pasture grows more soil carbon but more livestock means more methane production. Not sure if it’s a net gain in carbon accounting.

@HamishinWA @Paul_Brown1 @ColinJBettles The only way so far to increase soil carbon is long term pasture phases. So far it’s next to impossible with continuous crop. We have less dust storms now than we did before no-till. And we’re aiming for less still. Good crop makes good crop residue which stops dust storms

@Nyscat I reckon I have ten diaries and would be lucky to have 365 entries between them. Best intentions in January fall in a heap by the end of February.

Does everyone buy diaries fully intending that this year will be the one where you document things properly or are you all normal well adjusted people who don't come across those cute diaries half way through the year and notice they've been used about 4 times?

Ended up turning my stockpile of used yoghurt containers into baiting stations that are working a treat. Lid seals on tight but have to weigh them down with a rock, might fill the bottom quarter with concrete for model 2.0

I’m in trouble for keeping yoghurt buckets but never taking down to the sheds. The one in the foreground is full and has been sitting there for a couple of day. 🤦‍♂️
