Imagine spending years in medical school, learning evidence based reasoning, only to throw it out the window when it comes to theology. Atheism simply refusing to accept a claim without evidence. That’s literally the foundation of science and medicine. If complexity automatically proved a “designer”, doctors wouldn’t study pathology, they’d just call everything ‘magic’ and go home. Credentials don’t make someone immune to bad arguments, and calling people dumb instead of presenting evidence is usually a sign you don’t have any.

@kaley_whitton Calvinism isn’t a system imposed on Scripture it’s the only one that lets Scripture speak. It bows before God's glory, not man's will. It exalts grace, not effort. The Bible is Calvinist, because it is God-centered from beginning to end. Can we have a discussion on this?

@JLU_2016 @haymes_joshua Brother, I wasn’t always a Calvinist. But then I read the Bible. I saw that God chooses. He does all He pleases, in perfect love and holy freedom. I was terrified but then I was humbled and now I rejoice. For such a God saves not by merit, but by His mercy.

@haymes_joshua Do you believe, as most Calvinists seem to, that everything single thing, including sin, was predetermined by God? If so, how can you "revel" in the idea that God predetermined us all to be "wicked sinners" and will damn your loved ones whom he has not enabled to believe in Him?

I used to hate Calvinism. I was wrong. When I first encountered Calvinism (and the doctrine of election in particular), I shook my fist at God, and said “NO WAY! I could never serve a God who would choose some and not others.” And then I kept reading the Bible and realized that throughout the entire narrative, God is choosing some and not others. God chooses Abraham, and no one else to make his covenant promise with. God chooses Jacob, and not Esau. God chooses Israel and not Egypt. God chooses David and not Saul. God is constantly choosing to show special grace through particular people/peoples at particular points in history. Now, instead of shaking my fist at God and saying that that’s not fair, I marvel at the grace of God that he would show anyone of us wicked sinners any grace at all. I revel in the grace that he has shown me and in the fact that my name was written in the book of life before the foundation of the Earth. I glory in the fact that my salvation is not up to me and my righteousness, and that NOTHING can separate me from the love of God in Christ Jesus. Now, of course, we demonstrate our election by continuing in the faith to the end, but we do so by faith, knowing that God has chosen us and loves us dearly. Where I used to hate Calvinism, now election, and the doctrine of Grace are such an incredible comfort to me, and they are so clearly taught in scripture. I talk about Calvinism, because I love the word of God. And I want other people to experience the same joy and comfort in these wonderful glorious truths of scripture as well. This post was inspired by my morning quiet time John 17:9 I am praying for them. I am not praying for the world but for those whom you have given me, for they are yours.

@KakandeAlex Give for example a small jeweler business, profits seem very little but when added up they upto something and yes while losses are there sometimes you’re certain some seasons will most definitely will yield much so you can plan for the foreseeable future.

Honestly this sounds like a good idea for an established person who’s now looking at making generational wealth or secure their children’s future.. very little returns in a year is not strategic for a low income earning Ugandan.

As you may know, I’m not a Calvinist and can confidently say I won’t become one. However, I’ve read a ton of Calvinist literature, and I’m about to read a bunch more with these 10 new Reformed/pro-Calvinist books. Keeps my mind sharp to read things I don’t agree with, and part of me just thoroughly enjoys the subject.
