@JosephLevi @DorkDraft Yeah there’s a ton of nuance to the convo because I do agree. They don’t really flat out miss on players it’s just a lot of these guys are role players It works when you have a championship core, but I worry about the 3-4 years in the future without high end rookie contracts

@DorkDraft @JasonBishopNFL A ton of these guys have also played a substantial role stepping in during injuries and played a big part. Quality depth is just as important a lot of times.

They’ve drafted very poorly the past three years

@DorkDraft good but imo not good enough to block off a first rounder if he was showing he should be on the field Over the last three drafts I think the only guys really blocked by depth are KAD, Elliss, Robinson and Jones

@DorkDraft Completely agree but I do think the depth could be a bit overstated as blockers for these young players. RB- Estime, Harvey had every opportunity to steal a leading role WR- same thing, all of those guys have had chances EDGE- they’re blocked off no argument CB- JQM/Moss are

@DorkDraft I mean we just don’t know at the end of the day though. We can hope that these young players are good but because they’re not playing that much we don’t actually know. They flash of course but it’s rare to find young players with 0 flashes

@JasonBishopNFL If the reason we aren’t getting the contribution is bc they guys aren’t good.. that’s one thing. If it’s because there is talent on the roster that’s balling ahead of them. I view it differently.

@DorkDraft And I completely get some guys are buried but regardless of the reasoning, it’s still the end result of not getting much contribution from your picks

@DorkDraft I agree on the edges but those were the 21/22 drafts where they drafted well They haven’t had as many values like that lately

@DorkDraft talk, he started because all of the options weren’t good I totally see your viewpoint with guys buried but at the same time they haven’t proven they can actually be starters either, and I think you can go through just about every team and name young players to get excited about

@DorkDraft See I guess we look at it differently, I don’t think returner or punter are really starters in the way the term is used, I care more about offensive/defensive starters Moss/Bo: both were great picks where they were drafted Franklin *started* but it’s the opposite of the depth

@BroncosEdge_ @BLAKEYMCSHAKEY Yep, for the record I don’t expect that but I do think it’s 50/50 he gets an extension past this season. One of JQM and him are definitely leaving

Am I the only one who sees only 3-4 sure-fire starters here for the Broncos long-term?

@BroncosEdge_ I just don’t think Mims really can be scaled up anymore and it doesn’t make sense to pay him a lot imo

It’s so obvious Marvin Mims is going to have another underutilized role in the offense this season and then get paid big time by someone else in free agency next offseason

@chase12270 @BroncosEdge_ I’m excited for a lot of these guys but it’s all contextual Like Harvey I think can be an awesome piece but he’s also just going to be a piece rather than an every down core player

@JasonBishopNFL @BroncosEdge_ Yea i think next year is gonna be telling for a lot of guys and we’ll find out if they had limited production bc they were blocked by crowded rooms or bc they aren’t good enough. I’m most interested in jones. Barron/robinson still probably don’t have a path to real time yet

@DorkDraft I agree with all of what you said and yet they’ve drafted two starters and a punter in three years, zero all pro offensive/defensive players Results are the results

@JasonBishopNFL I’m excited to see the development of Barron, Harvey, Bryant, Jones and Que… drafted a franchise QB, All pro returner… and I’m high on Ellis, Moss and KAD.

@chase12270 @BroncosEdge_ Agreed here there’s a lot of nuance to it I think they’re great at finding solid role players and not burning picks but also have struggled to find impact core players lately

@JasonBishopNFL @BroncosEdge_ They’ve done a pretty good job on day 3 each year imo at least. Skinner is a core ST guy, Franklin has at the very least played at the level of a 4th rounder, KAD has been a more than serviceable backup, Vele got us another 4th +, and a good punter. Que rob flashed too

@BroncosEdge_ Moss is for sure yeah but I also wouldn’t be surprised if he’s not on the roster by week 1 WRs I think Bryant will emerge but it’s still a projection

@JasonBishopNFL I was thinking Bo, Crawshaw, Moss and one of the receivers.

@FB_FilmAnalysis Where did Bo land on this list? I remember his numbers as a rookie plummeting under pressure

Biggest to lowest gap in EPA per drop back in clean pocket vs pressured from 2022-2025 (40 starts minimum)

@RobisaMileHigh I don’t think that new front office totally knows what they had or they really don’t think they’ll be competing anytime soon WR statistics come down so much to statistics and from being behind Tyreek and having a QB as limited as Tua the numbers don’t do the talent justice
