I actually can’t believe what I just watched. The United States is at war. We have a deranged man tweeting world ending global threats by the hour. And the LEADER of one of our chambers of Congress is meeting this moment by tweeting a rant about trans athletes participation in sports?!?! To be clear, my position on this is that it should be handled on a case by case basis by the individual sports leagues at the local level. Not only should this topic, which affects an infinitesimal portion of the population, have NEVER reached the highest levels of government, but to focus on it NOW? I feel immeasurable pain for the people who did NOT vote for this, yet we all collectively have to deal with the consequences of what is apparently the end stage of the politics of unbridled hate and greed. They have betrayed us.
