@RussellLuke24 @MemEnglandhokey @Willowsacorns But had 16 PC’s against Malaysia and only scored once. There in lies a big chunk of the problem when you need a bucket load of goals to qualify. That’s a woeful return. Yes they scored about 50% of PC’s against Austria but not great quality oppo.

@MemEnglandhokey @Willowsacorns I’d argue that the U21 should do better considering it’s all the Uni boys and so should be in peak condition. Format is a shambles. Losing 5-3 to Hoofdeklasse team isn’t failure. The fact we couldn’t score 8 vs Malaysia is the issue

@Willowsacorns @MemEnglandhokey And wonder why sides like our Age Group squads continually underperform when it matters most, a decent chunk of the better talent/potential stop playing or are overlooked (crap pathway, same coaches YoY, massively narrow and blinkered selection process….). Poor feeder process.

2/2 Year after year it seems decisions and choices are made that have a negative impact on clubs or players with zero feedback. Meanwhile we lump all eggs in an ever decreasing basket of central contracts. Is there any wonder people are disenfranchised @MemEnglandhokey

Will never understand why hockey clubs in England are not at the centre of everything @EnglandHockey does. Coaching, junior development, NAGs nominations, senior international programme etc etc. Nothing has changed from my time playing juniors. 1/2

No biases. England / France just now prime example. What doesn’t work with the women is explayers afraid to speak mind

@sewateruk And very baffling that there is no back up power supply to kick in when there is a power cut e.g. generators. That seems really poor foresight and planning.

@AndyEdwards1978 EH are an absolute joke. Shouldn’t allow guest players period. Like you say if want to do that do it at indoor uk tournaments. They make draws up as they go along. Far too many byes. Some SE indoor only had 2 teams and they only played 30 mins to decide national finals.

U18 boys “club” Indoor You know you’ve been stitched up when the oppo have more guest players than actual members 🤦‍♂️ Always been a couple of guests allowed but It’s meant to be a “club” not 3 NL clubs and two schools unattached players …… 🤷‍♂️ Proud of my guys 🔥❤️👊

@angusjporter @AndyEdwards1978 I’d imagine a bit of both. Where we are (at least) and for a 20 min extra drive in any direction you open up diff clubs you can play. EH not interested & continue to keep league & cup too local esp in early rounds. Players don’t want that YoY so stop. EH Creativity lacking.

Our T1 U16 team won double figures whilst our T2 U16 lost double figures ……. Not sure this self selecting Tier system is great 🤷‍♂️

@AndyEdwards1978 And time for a change with TA too. Can anyone say that is working and value for money especially for older ones playing with even younger school age groups it seems now. How is that helping develop stronger players. They just leave and take chance at open trials, if bothered.

Growing up watching my dad and then brother & husband playing finals night at Crystal Palace. Now watching Biba following on in their footsteps! Beyond proud, she the youngest to have played in the final & to come out top goal scorer overall! What an achievement at 15!! 🥰

@AndyEdwards1978 @TBBTalentAca @ICordwell @LiamKing6 Couldn’t agree more. Combining 4 school year groups as one just doesn’t work. Great for years 10 and 11 to play up and get good stretch. Not a great experience or stretch for the older boys at all. A decent number have simply left TA as a result. Not a smart change at all.

@AndyEdwards1978 Early signs are unimpressive and very underwhelming. Same coaches, same drills, no variety. 4 age groups in one = wide ranging ability and no stretch for older players. Players won’t attend weekly and prioritise adult training = more stretch & dev esp in higher sides/leagues

In all honesty I still can’t get my head around the new system, if there is one. Lot of head scratching trying to do what’s best and seeing massive regional variations.

@PcTonbridge Thanks but there has to be a better, earlier way of getting this out sooner than tweeting 15 mins after start time and telling players on arrival. Some travel a distance. We knew it was freezing and training on water based pitch. Waste of peoples time travelling for nothing.
