While other Owner Operators are crying about fuel prices I’m laughing all the way to the bank. I love the new freightliner Cascadia. Just haul a load of Gatorade 44,339lb for 400 miles today from GA to VA up I-77 and my MPG 9.3 when I dropped. That’s the heaviest I’ve hauled in the truck since I got it and still great fuel mileage.

I remember back when fuel spiked back in 05-06, the feds stepped in and really got behind FSC with the intent to help “save” many trucking companies from going under. After Katrina we got hammered with fuel spikes. Gotta also remember, fuel was $4.00+ and rates were around a dollar a mile or so. Many brokers then started to do “all in” rates that “included” FSC on the rate con that made you feel like when you trade a used car and they give you more on a trade to make the deal actually look good when it really isn’t.
