I wonder if the Warriors would consider releasing Luke Metcalf to the Dragons before the June 30 deadline, especially given he’s currently struggling to crack the side. If that happened, New Zealand would likely free up cap space for the rest of 2026 and could potentially use it to front-load other contracts. That means they could bring forward payments for players already contracted in 2027, reducing those players’ cap hits next season and effectively creating more salary cap space for 2027.

Warriors fans wanting Metcalf gone now. What happens if Boyd/CHT get injured. Are we confident in Luke Hanson/Jett Cleary to come in and fill the void. If I were the club I would not be releasing Metcalf early. You can’t be sure Boyd and CHT stay fit for the whole season. It’s NRL. Anything is possible. Obviously hoping that they both remain fit

Do we really think Boyd and CHT and
are going to be around the club for the next few years. I get the whole Metcalf injury thing. But is it not a risk. To relay on Boyd staying consistent. And CHT only wants a one year deal. Club has a headache with what to do
